This is the newest family member.I found her on Craigs list in Spokane for $250.00.It runs, rod knocking(5mge or rebuild the 4m?)and an auto.No rust through, pretty nice body, nicer int.I have been looking for a MKI project, but I was finding alot of rust if I found one at all.She is silver(slug too)and she will be just as nice as my MKII one day!

Keep Ev minty!
The MkI has a solid read axle, so I think at least a 7m swap would be good. ;)

Looks good Bob, except for the snow. I recognize that parts car. Guess you'll need to have a running car in there somewhere with all the projects.
BTW, finally fixed my heat! Disconnected vacuum line on the dampener.

Nice score Bob!! Looks like a good winter project if anything.
First time I've seen a Maroon vinyl interior on a Silver Metallic exterior for a 79. Can you read off the firewall dataplate for me??? I'm just curious if this is a Code 128/LJ31 car.
Also, what does the switch that is on the right side of the console do??? I know the one on the left side is the O/D switch.

Ouch!
Grab up that parts car - it looks to be in pretty good shape and looks quite restorable too! Josh=MKI has no less than 6 parts cars now so save both of those!
