How long to operating temp?

How long should it take my stock 85 to get to operating temp? I think it takes to long for it to fully warm up. My 4runner warms up by the time I leave the subdivision. with my supra I can drive all the way to work and it's still not fully warmed up. I put a new 195 Stant thermostat in it a few months ago. I'd say it takes my car 15 minutes to fully warm up.

That's too long. The cheapo Stant T-stat is probably stuck open. Swap it for a OE T-stat.

that's what I figured. I knew something wasn't right. I need to hit up YOTA for a OEM.

Granted it was a cold day, but it NEVER reached normal operating temperature.

wonder why my 3.0 4runner warms up so much faster? It has an electric fan conversion. so the fan doesn't come on until it hits like 185.

My 84 will reach operating temp after idling for around 1-2 minutes then around 4 minutes of driving gently, so looking at around 6 minutes from dead cold to opperating temp.

Thats not right, its likly stuck. Lower temp, poorer fuel economy.

VFX_Bishop has it about right.

My 83 takes 10-15 minutes if I just let it idle,similar VFX_Bishop if I leave normaly.I usualy run it for about 30 seconds,cruise speed limit thru town,2-3 miles,and a few stop lights.Always at full temp by the time I get on the freeway.
