Just wondering if someone could give me a rough estimate of how much it would cost to have my front windshield wiper motor replaced labor wise. I plan on buying a used one for 40 bucks and just need it installed. The damn wipers keep getting stuck in the up position and there is a clicking/grinding noise and yes I did use the search engine.

It takes about 15 min to install, tricky part is to get the armature set into new motor, little hands, long fingers help, try it yourself save the $$

I just changed my motor 2 weeks ago. You can do it in about 10 minutes with help of another person. Unplug the 2 electrical connectors, remove the 4 bolts holding it to the firewall and wiggle it outward ~ 3/8", then slide it towards the pass side a little to allow the motor arm to slide out of the rectangluar hole in the firewall. See the wiper rod connected to motor arm yet? It is a ball and socket, so it just pops out. To get new motor on, 1st remove the plastic "grate" that keeps leaves and things out of the cowl area at the base of the windshield that is nearer to the pass side of the car. Manually move wipers till about sitting vertical on the windshield, then have a 2nd person lift the inner wiper rod (one you just disconnected from the motor arm) so that you can see it in the rectangle cut out in the cowl. Have 2nd person hold wiper rod tight against the cowl/firewall so you can 'wiggle / pop' the motor arm into the wiper rod. Slide motor towards driver side to get it to sit flush on the firewall. Reconnect 4 bolts and electrical connectors and you are all done. 15 minutes if you struggle getting the motor arm to reconnect to the wiper rod. If $40 for 15 min, then you just "made" $160/hr. Reasonably easy - save time and money - do it yourself. Jay B in AZ
**The motor is is at extreme top side of firewall near the hood hinge on the pass side. See black cylinder with the silver cap facing the front - that's it.

Thanks for your help guys. I go to school so I don't have a hella lot of money to throw around so whatever I can do to save myself some cash I'm all for it. Thank you.

Well written Suprajayaz, I have done it twice and an extra hand is what I needed each time!
Good luck kazuma!

Hey, well done! That's started you on making blood offerings to the Supra gods. As you continue to prove your worth to them by working on the car, adding the necessary upgrades and performing the required routine (and not so routine) maintenance, they gradually ask for less and less blood. Buying the right tools for the job at hand also contributes to this. Eventually you will be able to do routine maintenance without ANY blood offerings. But I have to admit that getting to that point takes a while! And I should also point out that head wounds tend to bleed more and look worse...
