as til now my plan has been to do a 7mgte swap to my 85 ptype. however i recently saw that a member on here was selling a fully built 5mge internals and head job and what not for a very reasonable price. so suddenly this idea is interesting so i was wondering what would be enough to run higher boost on a 5mge? i mean i could probably keep the boost low and just run the RRFPR, but with a built engine i would want more. Unfortunately i think a megasquirt system may be a bit over my head... and i've read a safc and stuff aren't as dynamic as one would need so is there any other real option for tuning?? thanks in advance :)

Also, search "5mgte" should give you enough reading to boggle your mind.Might have to search with a few others "5m turbo,6mgte,etc".

There are additional injector controllers you can use, which are more precise than rrfprs and SAFCs. They also keep your fuel pressures normal, and are easier to wire in than SAFCs..by a slight margin. With most, you have a power, ground, tach signal, map sensor signal, and injector wires. I've got a project on site that will end up using them - http://www.rabidchimp.com/aaron/Large%20Larry%20Turbo%20Supra/IMG_0349.JPG

Expensive, but you could use a plug in AEM for a 7MGE. This would at least plug into the car and use factory sensors.
You would still need big injectors and someone to do the tuning.

a plug in for the 7mge would work on a 5mgte?
