I hope this isn't a repost, I havn't been on this forum much in the last while. I was talking to my parts guy at my local Lordco the other day and was enquiring about a hood for a honda. He looked it up in a catalog from some body supplier I didn't recognize, so naturally I grabbed the book and headed for the toyota section. Look what I found....

You might have to go to the home page, www.crosscanadaparts.com and click on the Guest button then find the section yourself. There are pictures too if you click on the part number.

Anyways, there you go, quaters for the 82-85 celica which should be exactly the same for Supras. They look like ones for flareless cars but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to adapt them. I got my guy to call the distributer. They didn't have any stock in their Vancouver warehouse but apparently they did in their Toronto one (though the site says they're in Windsor). I was told it would take about a month for them to get here if I didn't want to pay for freight. List was 200 something cdn a side, your price would depend on who you buy them from and what kind of a discount you can get. I personally can get them for a bit less then 150cdn each but I'm also dating someone who works at this store lol. Anyone interested in buying a set who doesn't have access to a Lordco would have to find a local distributer I imagine, try emailing the company for one close to you. I don't know where theses quaters are made but apparently they're "hand made" which means they're made by hammering a piece of sheet metal over a die. Don't expect 100 percent perfect fitment but its not like any quater panel would be a bolt on affair or like we have any other alternatives. If someone picks up a set let us know what they're like!

I love Lordco's, they have been the best car stores I've been in. I was living in the US for about 5 years and could not find a decent car store. Coming back to BC and hitting up Lordco was great.

I had originally ordered a set of those to do my quarter panel repair, but since they are so different from the P style fenders, i ended up repairing my car the old fashioned way, and selling those panels to someone with an L type

Hmm..wonder if that would work with some modifications....like rolling the rear fenders for wider tires....might be an Idea. But since I love l-types...time to find a rusty l-type to try it....

posted this a while back but here it is again . Not a big deal to reattach the flare just crimp the lip drill the holes and the flare covers the rest . I'll update in a couple of weeks when mine are on and post pics in my Toybox thread. I've been putting off a build thread but might have to start soon the pics are building up and the work is far from finished . oh BTW thats the parts car ( rusty but trusty )

Wow, someone should snatch up as many as possible. You know they will probably discontinue this piece eventually

Fitting a flare to an ltype quater is not a problem, its just a matter of drilling the holes for the studs in the right spots. The trick is removing material from the inner lip so you don't loose any wheel clearance, and doing it so that you can mate the lip up with the wheel well unibody and weld it together solid.

Really though, replacement quaters aren't necesary for the average mk2 quater rust. Most cars that havn't been let go too far just need new metal on the insides around the gas tank, and then small bits on the bottoms on the outside where the black paint and rocker guard is. Both of those areas are easy to replicate with a little sheet metal. However some mk2s get alot of rust under the flares all the way around the wheel well, in which case having new quaters is really nice. I've been thinking of picking up a pair of these to keep around in case I ever need them.

yah, mine wasnt at the point where replacement quarters were going to make the job any easier, so i just fabbed the small patch panels out of sheet steel

the worst parts were actually in front of the rear wheels on the rocker panel - since thats pretty structural i had to take some time to fix it right

Notice the lower rear contour ?? It's the only real flaw and it's a big one , the celica has it out the Supra contour bends in to match the rear bumper . Good luck with the install and keep us posted !!

My Dad deals with CrossCanada for classic Mustang sheet metal all the time, I'll have to take a look through his latest catalog next time I'm over there. I'll also see if I can find what the jobber price is...
