It funny to keep watching the Dodge lose hubcaps. I've never seen so little traffic and so many parking spaces in all my life in SF. I've always been partial to the car chases in Ronin.

Truly a by-gone era.

Funny though, the two guys in the Mopar look like German Gestapo henchmen.

American Muscle Baby.

Love that scene. I've seen it maybe 50 times and it never gets old.

Ahhhh a coffee and an awesome car chase . Thanks Greg and good morning :mm_beer:
Never been to SF but those famous hills must claim a few vehicles in the run of year. Love the sound of American muscle so raw :mm_beer:

Although I DID like the original, I thought it was a bit too drawn out for me... it just seemed to go on, and on and on...

I have never seen Bullit, so I dont want to spoil it for myself by watching the clip

ANother of my fav classic car movies is Vanishing Point :)

Truly a by-gone era.

......and by god I miss it.

Love the fact that it's just guys beating on the old school iron and no CGI involved. I'm tying to remember the flick with Gene Hackman and the 4 door lemans.

Oh yeah... The French Connection. I just caught it on TV the other night. Hackman beats the piss out of a commandeered Pontiac LeMans/Tempest under the "L" tracks.

It's hard to not want a Charger R/T after watching that. I remember seeing it for the first time when I was about 10 years old. A black '69 Charger R/T, no vinyl top...that'd be my dream car right there.

It is a 68 charger. Love the shifting of the mustang, was that the first six speed? LOL!

When I was a kid I had to make a pine car for school. Mine was a Green 68' Mustang Fastback. It's still on my shelf here at home.

All engine, no brakes, skinny tyres and woeful handling, something interesting I noticed is despite having a hi-po 390ci engine they neglected to fit an LSD:faint:

Are you actually criticizing that car? Like, comparing it to 2007 standards or something?

Agreed. Let's not forget polyglass tires.

There were better handling and faster muscle cars than these two in 1968. I just love the sounds of these things; I know the handling to be relatively crude.

Oh, I know this. I wasn't criticizing the cars or the vid at all. I agree that both cars are quite badass.

I know....I was just responding back to 7MA61. I don't think he liked my American Muscle reference!

Being the goober that I am - I noticed 1 or 2 first generation Firebirds in the chase scene also (1 had the ram air 400 hood scoops) :D

That was awsome! I clapped and cheered when the Stang bumped the Charger into the gardrail and blew up. That was great! Thanks guys for the memories! LaterZ! :zzzzz:

I heard a story that Steve McQueen did all the driving himself, up until a scene where he lost control of the Mustang, and said something to the extent of "That thing is insane. I'm not driving it anymore." lol. Don't know how true it is, but I thought it was an entertaining story.

From what I understand, he and Bud Ekins were the drivers of the Stang. Bud was also the rider that laid down the bike. He used to race with McQueen. There are alot of interesting things in the special features on the DVD.

No you're not a goober. How many classic Corvettes are there? Anyone want to count how many times the Charger lost a hubcap?

I thought I'd share these since we're already on the subject of McQueen.
