Interesting idea. Put into practice though a whole slew of questions arise. Have they ever been installed on anything but a test vehicle? What's the system cost? Who is qualified to do the installation. Can it be serviced and at what cost? What about replacement parts? Etc.

Lotus had a prototype programmable suspension back in the '80's Very cool. Programmable amount of lean (or not) in the corners. You could even have it lean in a different direction (like into the corner instead of away from it). You could even make the front end go UP when it was braking. Solved the rear-end squat under hard acceleration too. Very impressive, very expensive, never made it into production... One of the things I remeber from the article was that it used sensors that would allow it to "lift" a tire going over a pothole to avoid damaging the wheel. Sheeeit that's a neat idea.

Used in F1 for a few years in late 80s-early 90s. Got so good at it they outlawed it. "Active Ride" suspensions are modern production counterparts.

There was talk about putting them in M-B as the factor suspension set up. Something about 300 lbs at each corner they didn't like.
