Got 7 runs in running my dyno boost, 17ish psi. Stock rims and tires. Best '60 2.3(lol) 13.2 @ 116MPH. Should be much better if/when the wheels and tires show. Also want to thank zi Chimp for the work done, Shawn for the new axles and Matt for the crossmember.:) Anyways here's 3 runs.
Enjoy!

What was all that racket on the in-car vid? I bet if ya run around 20-25 psi in yer tires and launch a little harder, your times will improve quite a bit. Sounded like it was pulling hard, just lacking on a good hard launch. The car is light enough, it shouldnt hurt the driveline. Dont quote me on it though. Looks really fun. Wish I could go play on a track with mine. Is it 5,6or7mgte?

I was thinking it was when the boost kicks in. My car is kinda growly till it gets into boost, then it sounds like and open air hose from an air compressor.......lol

After driving that car the in-car part is the only part that does the car any justice. About the time you hear that air compressor sound, you remember the last time you went down a runway in a jet.

I'm thinking the roar is a divorced dp, that doesn't meet up with the rest of the exhaust.

Thanks! Ran a tad over my 420rwhp dyno boost (%40) WG on the controller. IIRC, trac temps were 130F, air temps were in the 90sF. Also, ran a very rich A/F...
The second run was against a C5 zo6. Ran him down at the end but still lost.
Also, ran against a v8 280z w/ P-type Mk2 rims. I thought he'd smoke me but his car did only 15.2, lol.
The incar stuff was from cramming the camera between the headrest and seat!lol Got a bunch more incar runs w/ a diff camera but can't find quicktime editor.
Jay, tire pressure was 25psi the first few runs, not on camera. The last run or two was 20psi. It may seem like I don't know how to drive but those tires are garbage and did no burnouts were done. Too much gas and the tires are lit up, too little and it boggs. W/ the stock turbo 4 years back i actually cut consistant 2.0 '60s.
The in car air racket is from the 38mm waste gate vented to the atmosphere. I think it might be a tad too small. divorced dp's are for Ct26s but it is a similar concept.:)

I couldn't stand the open WG pipe, and had it changed very quickly after driving the car with it like that!!!......lol
Burnouts help, people think they don't but they do. What tires are you running, size and rating?

Aw, c'mon, they're fun for scaring pedestrians.:D
Same tire as you but the smaller 245s. Did burn outs in the past but always got some nasty wheel hop, so I'm too chicken right now. Do you do your burnouts in 2nd gear?

No, in first, but my first gear is longer so I get enough speed in 1st gear (well the gear isn't longer, the engine revs more). I run the tires at 13-15psi, do a nice smokey burnout, then do a quick little pre launch towards the starting line to get a feel for how they're grabbing. Then baised on that I decide how hard to launch (having a tach makes this a million times easier, so think how much it sucks for me now...lol). Wheel hop can usually be reduced by giving it more gas, you have to power through it......like a tank slapper.....lol :)

That sound is the sound of the wastegate opening. "Dump" as its called on the street, perfect for scaring women and young children.

Got to Love the Turbo Dump pipe. Mine sounds just like that but I have a 40mm External Wastegate and the first time I got on it Jake (ABQMK2) Was like what the hell is that. I dont think I will ever get rid of it. Also It scares the Hell out of People that want to be Bad Asses on the Highway
Great Combination,
T66 with a External Wastegate and Dump Pipe
Turbo XS RFL in Between the dump
Just my Opinion though as I need to get up there and Visit wade and the crew.

Van Diesel Where???? hehehe!!!!!!
That Pic was up on ABQ, New Mexico when myself and Jake (ABQMK2) went out and ran some MKIV. Dam they surely do hate up MKII people now ;o)
Currently upgrading it to a 67MM Turbo with a Smaller Exhaust Housing. I had a ar.115 but at full boost there just wasnt enough room to make it efficient RPM wise. I think a 67MM with a AR.58 Exhaust will suit my needs pretty dam well.
Probably heading up you alls way September time frame. Hope to meet you all.

You busted another R154 Wade? Might have to Pick one up and Bring it over to ya. I know of a few here and I can get them for like $225.00 complete
Im planning on Bringing the car up as I need to get the heck out of El Paso for a week or so. I have so much Vacation time right now I dont know what to do and they are making me take it. 3 weeks with absolutely nothing to do.
All I need to do is find somewhere to crash while Im there and hopefully find a car to play around with and Im good. Hell even go hunting down some whatever we can find if you know what I mean.

Pretty Bored Yes. My back is doing alot better and Im able to Bend over but not to the Point of reaching below my Knees for anything. I basically lay on the floor and move around on my Creeper. Its all good though as I still trying to get things done despite of this dam injury. Plans are to drive up to Washington State in September and spend a week or so. Hopefully some of you all can show me some of the Dyno Places there and maybe go out to the Drags atleast once. If Im lucky I will be able to run the king and the Legend of the Forums...... Yes Im talking about you Wade and Shawn. For fun anyways.

Haha, Robert you crack me up! Just another Joe here.
Do have a spare R154. We'll see how long it last. Just don't have the energy or time to do this stuff my self anymore. Soon as the Chimp gets back from wearing his assless chaps in Sturgis SD, he's gonna get to Chimpin' on it.:zzzzz:

You guys know you are the Kings and Legends of the MKII world. I got too much respect for all the Pacific Northwest People. All I see are good things coming out of that area. FFIM, 7MGTE MKIIs, etc etc. I wanna be part of that world as soon as I retire which is 3 Years away unless I can get Stationed there. As for the Drags and all. Hell, It would be fun to run against another MKII, I ran against one like a Year ago here in El Paso and he was talking Mad shit to everyone before he even seen the car. He was bone stock 84 with some 15" Wheels. I seen him Launch from the line and His suspension was totally Shot. I think he ran like a 16.2 or something like that. I didnt pop my Hood at all and he was Showing everyone his 5m Motor. He asked what I had, I told him the same Year supra that he had which was true...... He said lets run and I told him that he might not want to do that. He said well then lets run for $50.00 since he won against a few Honda Civics that Night. I said do you want a Head start or are we going head to head, He laughted and said he had total confidence in his ride and didnt need anything. I said ok, So I jumped in the car and he was already waiting for me at the Burnout Pit, I pulled up next to him and he was like HOLY SHIT. He did his Burnout (Sorta a burnout) and I just rolled up to the line as I was running a 240 treadwear tire in the rear 255/40/17s I think they were, Anyways We We staged and I reved up to about 3500 and used the Emergency Brake to Build boost Pressure off the line. Tree turn green and he hit it as hard as he could. It was so much fun that when I got to the 1/4 line, I turned off the Lane and was just crossing the 1/4 Line. We got back up to the Pit area and everyone was laughing there Asses off. I ran like a 13.1 or something like that and he ran a 16.3 but a Bet was a Bet and he cough up the $50.00. Then he asked what I had under the Hood. Ofcourse being the type of Person I am, I told him to Pop his hood again since he parked right next to me, I then popped my hood and the guy almost shit.... Didnt see him too much anymore that night as I think he went home or just didnt run anymore.
I felt a little bad taking his money like that but he was just too much mouth.

Well I didnt Lie to him. I only Answered the Questions that he asked.
What type of car did I have?
Do I wanna run?
Do I wanna run for $50.00
He should have asked pop the Hood and he probably wouldnt have wanted to race after that.

Yeap... No Difference. Just make sure that you get in the car and Pump your Brakes back up before you drive somewhere. I would hate to see you get in the car and start to a Light or Intersection and hit the Brakes and just Keep Going.
Oh, I need to get with you as soon as I get back. Need to do that Inspection thing to the red Supra as we did the Green one. Same place and same Person If Possible.

Yeah no problem on the inspection, I went there a few weeks ago and the guy that did your inspection quit cuz he found a better job, I'm sure one of the others will do the inspection.
Well I did the brakes on monday afternoon damn it was hot lol but I didn't forget to pump the brakes after I finished, I did however had to buy a tire iron because I needed a 19mm for the lock. And I had a little bit of trouble undoing the bolts with the ratchet didn't have any 17mm wrenches but ended up using the tire iron for leverage.
So hows your vacation so far, been enjoying yourself with the family.
