I couldn't find anything specifically similar on the forums, so yea. Here is my problem.

My thought is that it may just be the Speedometer cable itself, but what could cause it to jump like that? Loose Connection? Freyed Cable (although that would probably make it stick; not bounce around)?

Do you grease it at the transmission or behind the dash?

Actually, the grease only worked for a few miles, then it started doing it again. But I greased it behind the dash.
Should I try the tranny?

You've got to force the grease down the entire cable. Really you should just replace the speedo cable altogether.

I understand that replacing parts is really the best way to go.
But for at least for a couple months, I cannot afford to buy one. Or anything to say the least. :ugh:
So for now, I will attempt to grease the entire speedo cable. Can you map me of the tranny speedo connection and its location?

The cable sort of pulls out. Sort of. Just make sure you grease the whole thing. If you can find a reliable used one, that's easiest.

is this another common problem on these cars the last 2 that i test drove have done the same thing (video is down) so i assume its the case that while you are driving the needle jumps or shakes instead of moving at a steady rate.
well if this is the case the simple fix would be to just replace the cable and if so how much does it cost new?
