I think this evolved from the drift scene. there are a lot of small accidents during an event and the drivers need a fast way to repair their body kits.
so they drill holes on both side of the broken parts and bind them together with zip ties. works very good and is really fast to do

Can you elaborate more on this? I've done alot of google search and can't find anything on it. Looking at the pic thoroughly I've noticed it has alot of strange things. No iac, the ignition module looks to have a plug similar to the maf and there is a unexplainable yellow plug mounted into the intake tube next to the throttle body. I do see the dry sump setup and the larger water pump pulley. I am very immensely intrested in this motor and its singularities.

I guess that makees sense. I was just trying to wrap my head aaround it. You'd never be lat on a drag strip, road course or even autox with something like that. I always forget about drift.

The one in the last lot of pics isn't a Soarer, it's a Corona Coupe. I really love them, you used to see quite a few in NZ, but like MA61's they're few and far between now..... that one looks like it's had a JZ transplant, but if I could get hold of a GT-TR with the 2T-GTE I'd be a very happy man!

The Soarers and Celica XX shared a lot of things, including similar seats, I believe so did the Corona and Carina, in common with the Celica. The 80's was a messy time for all the Japanese manufacturers putting out all sorts of similar cars with different names.
