Hello,
I was wondering if any of the road racing members, or any member for that matter, has found a harness bar that works for our cars? I have an autopower bar but it is somewhat permanent in nature and was wanting to see if maybe there is anyone that could see about fabriacting one for members that would like one. Another forum member said that finding one from another car might be an idea and see how close it is and modding it versus reinventing the wheel. I am far from JOE FABRICATOR but I would put money on the fact that one of the fabricating minds on this forum has already been there. Throw out your thoughts and ideas please.

For the members that do not know what this is exactly.

It is a bar that runs from b-pillar to b-pillar and allows you to run racing harnesses and also allows you to connect a camera for your road racing videos too. It is very temporary in nature in that most units take less than 5 minutes to remove.

Anybody that has any insight or maybe some fabricating ideas please put them out here!

Thanks everybody!

I thought someone had fabricated a "strut brace" that attaches to the rear seat top latches?

I know when I ran autocross I attached the 3rd point of my Schroths at the c-pillar shoulder mounting points. You might want to see if someone can fabricate a bar for these points.

Are you trying to mount harnesses or a camera?

James,
Actually I am more interested in using harnesses but a plus would be to maybe use a camera at some point.

Between all the members who have extremely modded cars I cant believe that nobody has even considered doing this.

still awaiting some ideas for bars that connect to the b-pillar.

thanks everyone!

after i get the motor done im going to be building one. im going to try and use the factory holes in the B pillar for the oem seat belt. this would be very similar to the bar you posted and be threaded at both ends so you could take it out if needed. similar to the strut tower bars with the threaded sections.

ive seen nothing out there beside a 4 point +

I have thought about it, but since the daughter sits in the back seat, I can not put a bar there. But I do have a rear shock brake that I mounted my 4-point to, since no one can sit behind me I just cut 2 holes in the seat and mounted the seat belt to the bar since it is a strong one.

Also when mounting a 4-5 point harness, do not mount them where the rear seatbelt use to be. It is ideal to have it mounted at no more than a 20degree angle and not more than 3" below the top of your shoulders. Well if you do not care for you back and collar bone, you can mount it where you want.

I have found some semi universal harness bars that may work for us. The second auction gives some measurements that will help. I will do some measuring when I get home to see what I think.

This may be more than what you are looking for, but have you considered Autopower? CLick on the picture for their website.
