Can you document the mileage? Are you sure the odometer hasn't rolled over?

Nice car, but I would say it's rolled the odometer over. That still low miles for a car that old.

Definitely rolled it, but still beautiful.

In agreement with both of you - I'd say it probably has 125k miles - but it is a very clean MkI.

I think there'd be more and much better shots of the engine if it only had 26k on it.

the mileage is based on opinions of people here, the pedals are like brand new, the block and frame are extremely clean and it runs and drives like a new car, even the suspension is better than a 2007 civic in this thing. I wanted to believe it was 127000 too, but the owners before me said it sat in a shop for 8 years and was owned by an old couple. i have no mileage records for maintenance at all, so its impossible to tell. It has been repainted, thats a fact, but im really not sure about the mileage on this girl. i ewould expect a cracked dash, dirty frame, and road soaked oil pan, so who knows. even if it is 127k, its 30 years old. not bad at all.

Carfax might have registration / mileage records.
As a seller, it is in your best interest to document the low mileage.
Why? because you are at two price points $1-2,000 for 127,000 miles and $5,000+ for 27,000 miles.
Selling it undocumented at $3,000, right in the middle is going to prompt the question in a potential buyers mind - is it a $1000 car or a $5000 car?...

It's very easy to reset the service light.

Don't recall the exact mileage that triggers it.

MKI's don't have a "general" maintenance service light. Only thing "closely" remote to it, is the O2 "Sensor" light, that will turn on & stay on, every 30K miles. Very easy job to reset the light, but there are 2 different procedures (79 - 80, the reset switch is on the steering column underneath the dash. 81 is on the top/inside of the drivers kick panel).

Carfax unfortunately is not a option. They only carry VIN#'s that go back to the 81 model year. 80 & older, you're SOL.
