ok, i did a search and didnt find any threads pertaining to this. the black car i bought, i was told it needed a new seal. it is currently siliconed, as is my blue cars sunroof. id like to get new seals so i can get rid of the silicone thats on them. anyone know anywhere i can get new seals besides the dealer? im afraid the dealer will want an arm and a leg plus eventually they will run out. also, i would like to replace the hatch seal as well.

William,

Is this the black colored seal that is on the outer sunroof panel itself??

Someone listed it in the sticky for the Parts numbers thread. $46 something, before any discounts. Don't know of anyone else who would have this.

I bought one new from Toyota when I had the Redpra repainted. The price was surprisingly reasonable (for a dealer part).

Williamb82 it's not like it's something that you must replace on a regular basis. I've had the same sunroof seal in my Car for 14 years now and it's never leaked. One thing is to lube the seal with a good rubber seal conditioner. Which will make it last a lot longer. I live in Florida also and my car has seen a lot of rain and hot sun. Sil Glide will do it good.

thanks for the tip. the reason i say that is i am 21 and always plan to have a few mkii's. also, i have seen an increasingly high number of mkii's with siliconed sunroof's. it sucks to hit the gas from a stop when its raining and have a big splash of water on your head. i also need to find the hatch seal. ill check the dealer when i get a sunroof seal. hopefully it wont hurt the wallet too much.

Both of my Supra's still have the same sunroof panel seals on them & I have not had any problems, including water comng in. Just make sure that all 4 of those water drain tubes are clear & are not clogged up, and you should not have any water coming in.

suck it up! Go to the dealer and buy 2 or 3 seals..........about $26.00 each. I agree with the above posts...they do last forever. The only time you might nedd to change them, is if it is leaking or you swap the sunroof panel due to rust.
