sometimes it wont start...

i have an 82 and i was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me why sometimes it runs fine... but sometimes i drive it for a while and then shut it down to say go in a store and when i come back out try to start it and it turns over but wont start. i try to start it for about an hour and then it starts up and runs just fine. it happend a couple of times now and its very annoying. can any one help? i would appreciate any information.

I'd guess that your igniter is on it's way out - about to die - but that's just a guess!
