Low Mileage Supras Registry (<100K miles, 160K Kms)?????

Over the past few months I’ve been compiling a list of the low mileage Surpas out there, along with their sales prices if recent. This is based on mentions here, ebay, craigslist, and so on. I plan on publishing the list in the next few weeks. Some forum members have seen drafts.

About every month another under 100K car pops up. Lots of garage queens, the latest is seanbo1972 (http://forums.celicasupra.com/showthread.php?t=40249)

If you have such a car and aren’t generally known (I know Dangerous K and PhilG, the 7K FL-GA-WA-NV wonder and hgx…) Please send me a PM or post here. Likewise if you do NOT want me to post how much you paid for your car (assuming it was in the forums), PM me. I’ll admit I paid $15.4K for my 84, in 84. Ditto if you do not want your forum handle listed (if it was on the forums, I will include it as well as general location (state), but not your name if you don’t want me to, though an easy search…)

So far (year, how many, lowest mileage):
1982 – 8 17K hgx
1983 – 4 25K
1984 – 7 4K (Canada dealer)
1985 – 17 7K Mint85
1986 - 3 44k

To my mind, low mileage means miles on the body, so Toomie at 17K counts, with a 7MGTE (Ophir Ronin/Junkie).

There was an 83 P-type up here, Terra Cotta, with 45k miles on it, that sold in the vicinity of $5000 recently. I'm not sure who to, or who the previous owner was. I was kind of jealous.

Mine has made it to 46,000 1982-P Redpra. Stock except moonroof and stereo and speakers. I have replacements ready to return to stock. (except the moon roof) I hope the next 100,000 go as well. It is still for sale, but it is getting harder to see her go.

well...mine when my brother first bought it, it had 112,400 miles on it originally and paid 2,000U.S...this was about five years ago...now since he gave it to me it now just turned 125,800 miles on the body...i blew the original engine last year and this year i just put in a new used motor with under 30k on it...i'm breaking everything in right now from the new used engine i got in there. big plans for that car...

Mint 85, welcome to the low mileage group. I'm going to list the asking price to help others get their value since you car sets a standard (and it would take lots of searching to find this particular thread). Both you and the previous owner got good deals.

Dowlestown PA Craigslist car - obvious repaint, and not a good repaint. But a decent looking car. I would say $4500 is sightly high just due to the errors in paint (3500-4k). With $500 of replacement trim, a higher value.

I am not sure if you have me on the list. My 1982 P type had 24 miles on it when I bought it for $15,254.16 with a discount of $1,377.24. She has just turned 66,000 miles and it hurts taking her to car shows and seeing the miles had up. She has won two trophies so far. My son is waiting for the car when I kick the bucket!

I bought the '85 in 2003 with 123,000 kilometers (about 76K miles) on it; it now has about 135K kilometers on the clock. I paid $6K Canadian for it at the time (which THEN was a bit over $4K USD). Worth every penny! I've had the '84 since it was three years old...that was so long ago it doesn't count...!

Before I start making tables and rearranging data (not consistent, 10K versus 10000, and dates of quoted miles), here is the rough draft so far. No one asked me to keep quiet on any details (I asked!). I need to add in a few more locations too. I’m sure I missed someone, so speak up. This is still a draft. No particular order within the year except I did put the lowest on top. This does include MK I's. I have often included the posts that reference the car, but that probably won't be in the final product (thoughts?). This is also intended as a pricing guide so there are notes on condition when bought if there is a price. There is one European car at the end of the list (also listed in the 83s). CL = Craigslist. Thanks for the nomination Shawn!!! Problem is that the Silver Slug is in sort of a "gray area" as far as past history.

1. Mileage, as purchased from Nix99, was around 48.5K miles (you were close).

2. It's past history is a little murky:

A. The emissions hose/plumbing label on the hood, shows that it's a California Spec Emissions car. It's not a 49 State/Canada label. Which means "Where was it's original destination when it got to North America"??? Or, "Did this car make it's way to the PacNW from Cali or not"??

B. Just a little bit after purchase, I was able to acquire a CARFAX history on it. Records unfortunately only went back to 1988. Not too much detail, or obvious clues as to it's past life. The only thing that was obvious, was that it did spend some time in the Puyallup area. Based on the mileage, along with statement "A". I'm "guessing" I'm either the 3rd or 4th owner (well, maybe the 5th owner if you also include the Nix99 ownership).

3. Whelp, it's not "exactly" low mileage anymore. Odometer is currently in the middle 111K miles range.

Since it's past history is not very clear, this was the reason why I didn't submit the Slugmobile for registry consideration.

I have several pages of notes to update the low mileage and original owners lists. I'll get around to it eventually as my life is getting in the way.

Of note, I needed another car recently (family emergency) and the garage queen was it. It didn't leave WA State, but if got 800 miles in 2 weeks. My cousin laughed at their attempts to lock and close the door, finally remembering to pull out the handle. That and the sheepskin seat covers.

I'm the original owner of one with around 80,000 miles (originally super white w/ terra cotta cloth interior, now exterior is maroon). Not sure of the exact mileage...The car is in storage, and hasn't seen daylight in a while...

Found the other one (black with black cloth interior) around 2005 sitting in a dusty garage. The last time it was registered was 1997, and it had 46,000 miles. I paid $1300 for it, and let it sit some more (too many projects!). I just resurrected it last month (Sept '09) to get it back on the road. Now it has close to 46,500 miles...

Somehow I never looked at your odometer that I remember, but I started this list after I last saw your car a few years ago in Centralia. Good luck on the next swap.

I have lots of notes to eventually update/add to this list. I haven't figured out a easy way to do a table in vBulletin (it eats [tabs]) so I have additional work to update from my Word documents. I'm thinking of making it a shared GoogleDocs Database (read only) for a long term solution (or a simple spreadsheet).

Good day Ladies & gents,..May I add my car. I have an 84 P-type with 152.000kms And i bought it in late 2005 off the original owner's daughter, and she only had it for 2 weeks. Before then, it sat in a carport for 17 years somewhere in BC, Kootenay's area.

Mine was sold to me in March for $1750 with 62,000 mi on it. This was in NJ, and is an 82

Bought mine this April at 160,9xx km, so, just barely barely over 100,000 miles. Now has just under 165,000 km or 103,000 miles. About to be parked for winter, don't see me putting more than a couple hundred km on it before then.

im not under 100,000 but im sitting at 129,000 miles on my 82. I only paid $300 us dollars for it. its pretty clean.

I bought my 1986 MKII Supra in 2000 (mfg. 11/1985) with 14,000 miles on it for $5000.00. (My mom was the original owner). It now has 40,000 miles on it but I am trying to keep the mileage down.
