Did you check the clock fuse?? I think it is under the driver's side kick panel/fuse panel (panel left of the clutch).

Mine goes full but everytime i fill it up, it only goes to 10 gallon lol. I guess I should just drive it around and see how long it can go. I think there should be anohter 5 gallon in there. Grrr.

Check out all the white supras in thread.....Should put a picture of mine on my sig. Thanks for the info on the clock fuse. Im going to eliminate the clock tomorrow. thats the only thing still green so its time to go.

I am also quite positive that Our white supras are the best looking. people tell me to paint it another color.....No Way

Just thought I'd add another white Supra to the thread.

Sorry, black > white in sex appeal. White > black for hiding flaws easily, lol. I've had both so I know :)

Anyway, my gas gauge went to full one time since I had the car, now it only goes to 3/4 even when I fill it to where gas is coming out of the neck. I'm too lazy to mess w/ the fuel sending unit, probably kinked floater.

I second that. Black my second favorite choice. Had to add some more white supras to the thread.

Sorry for the highjack, but I had a white 84 for years and loved the color. I really didn't want to get a red car, but the SDR is one of the best red's I have seen.

As far as the clock goes, I would check the fuse. As far as the gas gauge, you need to remove the sending unit from the top the gas tank and look to see what is wrong. Often they become heavier with age and just need to have the arm connected to the float bent up to make up for the difference. The access is under the spare tire on the passenger side. Clean off the top and remove the 3 screws holding it in place.

One of the best ways to determine your gas level is to use the trip counter. I fill up around 300 miles.

Sorry about the fuse suggestion but...I had to ask. The other possibility is a broken wire, I think the cigarette lighter is also on that circut, does that work??

reppin for the black 85-86's... once you go black you never go back.

ha my clock works but my cig lighter doesnt (which is fine, because i dont smoke anyways...)

You've got to be sh*tting me. If I go over 200, I'm doing real well, but I live in a land of stop signs and traffic lights and not much highway driving. I don't think I've ever seen 300 on my trip odo unless I forgot to reset it when I filled up.

And I have no idea why your clock isn't working. I'd be tempted to take the cluster out and see if there were any obvious broken wires or disconnected plugs.

When I installed my Autoloc,I lost dome and clock.Check dome light circuit and door switch. I can get the clock back IF I can find the power feed wire to clock.Busy doing other things.Haven't looked at the wiring diagram, yet.

check service bullitens on the sending unit. iirc the rheostat (not sure if that is correct) builds resistance and gives you a low reading. ive tried to run my car out of gas. drove about 75 miles with light on and still had gas. even when the light is on and i drained the tank to drop, it there was more than three gallons left in it. i suggest cleaning the sending unit, where the float arm connects to the unit. then check for resistance on all the different levels.

Well if the cigarette thingy works and the clock doesn't I think there is a wire close to the cigarette lighter that isn't connected and needs to be to get the clock working. iirc when I installed my radio I shorted out the cig lighter fuse and the clock also went out. Perhaps if you look behind the cigarette lighter you can see a lonely broken wire. I think the fuse labeled clock is for the display and this other wire is to keep the clock running since it is constantly powered. Just trying to help. BTW I have a white Supra too but I thought we were trying to get the clock working not start a best color of Supra thread.
