MY fuel sending unit isn't working too well. Took it out, cleaned it up, and still not good. Where can I get another sending unit?

A new one from Toyota would be your best bet as long as they are still available. Used fuel sending units from the J-yard tend to be worse for wear.
Have you made sure that the one you have is actually bad?

I took the old one out, removed the cover on the unit itself, (lots of rust!), cleaned it up with emery cloth, put it all back together. still have incorrect readings, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't

You dont write what year it is,,, I have seen somewhere that on the old with outside fuelpump there is a filter in the line next to fuelpump,, it might be full of rust too.

FYI, Toyota MSRP on a 84-85 new fuel gage sending unit is:
Analogue US$185
Digital $193
(so Mark, will charge roughly 75% of that)

Hmm, didn't know they differed by year and instrument cluster type.

Yikes!!! for that kind of money I will take my chances on a $5 junk yard one. If you can't find one yourself I can make you a deal on a good working one.
