Searched, didn't see what i wanted to find. Headlight retractors/pushupers
not working all the sudden. can get them to move at all. when i was playing with fog lights i moved them manualy after that they got stuck down. manually cranked them up. they went up, went down later. went back up that night, then never went back down. all the sudden neither one of them works. car is 85. not too expeirienced with head light relay or motor. anyone help?

Thanks

is the switch all the way down on the signal stalk? go one click up, the manually raise the headlights up a little bit, they dont have to be all the way up, just out of the down position...verify the motor moves freely with no binding, then put the switch all the way down and see if they go down. sometimes mine have gotten stuck when ive moved them accidentally. this usually works for me. if they still dont work i think you have an electrical gremlim. check the fuses first. then make sure you have power at the motor and work your way backwards.

OTSY,
Check the fuseable link that comes off of the Positive battery post (not the ones in the box but the single one, I think it is pink) If that is blown the retractor motors will not get power and can't move. The previous owner of my supra broke the wire putting in an "kicker Box" or some S**T, it took me two years to find out why mine didn't work. Good luck keep me posted I think I know as much as anyone on this subject, they will work again!

Well, it was the pink fuseable link. I got a parts car complete that i robbed. The connector is kinda melted or fried but it works. Any idea if toyota still sells these?

You are most certainly welcome...and you didn't think too much of me at first when I asked about the fuse, now you will think better of me every time you turn them on and they work. Write a note to Mark at Vancouver Toyota (in Vendors section) about the fuseable links, I think I remember some being bought recently probably a few bucks each.

And if it's melted you might want to upgrade your wiring. Check out the Jim King thread on fun with alternators => adding a large gauge cable from the alternator to the battery (with a fuse) and upgrading the grounds.

Make a list of what you need.

Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time at the moment to run around, take pics get shipping quotes, make up packaging etc. but if I've got something already off-car that's quick and easy, we might be able to arrange a deal/get it to you if you can find it elsewhere.

Besides the parts I already have off-car, I've got an 84 and an 83 to be stripped to the bone. My goal is to have this done by the end of the summer.

It is helpful to have a list in that I can copy and paste it, keep it on file an when I'm going in storage for other things I can keep and eye out for stuff U need.

Cheers,

I bought some last year $14 from the dealer,I think that right. I always buy from the dealer if the part is still available. At least I know it will work, and is the correct part... LEE :-)
