i am just curious, on a 6mge (on the mk2), head port and polished, with ct26 turbo, how long would the engine last before taking a dive from spraying nos through the system. and about how many sprays do you think it would take before i reached that limit?

From what i've read, a good strong 5m will take a 50-75 shot without too many issue. I know you asked about 6m... but maybe start with that and find out what happens. :)

But........

The same topics that I've read here... however.... Have all be based on the fact that those peeps were running a NA motor setup. Boosted power, on a 5M/6M..... Only a VERY small handful of peeps have done this (can't think of anyone here locally on the forums has tried this yet. Otherwise, the only other person who comes to mind, is Russ Matusevich).

Have you at least done a MHG & ARP studs/bolts??

How much are the headbolts torqued down to???

Wet or dry setup???

How big of a shot???

So... NA power... 50 - 75 shot & you're pretty safe. 100 shot, expect things to start breaking (usually a BHG is the 1st thing to happen).

Add in a turbo... UNLESS you've done things properly.. Expect things to break much sooner. Only reason why Russ is able to get things to work, is due to the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ he spent on getting things built/upgraded on his drag motor. And years of experimentation (how soon do things start to break??).

On my 5mgte I was running 10 psi and 2 stages of n2o, i think the last stage was probly about 150+, to say the least the headgasket did not like this. I will have to check what size jets i had in it to find out about how much hp i was spraying.

Forever. Unlimited. And Nawwwwwwsssss is FREE! Just kidding. Dont you need to turbo your 6m before trying this anyway? I dont remember your car having a turbo.

With a turbo & stock internals ........ not long!! The engine would be knocking on heaven's door in no time. Only race built engines can withstand those kind of stresses. :)
