Background on the car: 180k on clock, JDM swap done by previous owners. Only thing I know is that the motor was a 5spd motor, and they used the cut JDM harness instead of the old USDM one.
Several weeks ago I did a code check and found a 22 and 41. My harness was hacked near the firewall by the previous owner so I started there. I did find some broken connections and essentially decided to start over with the splice as the previous work was SOOO bad.
So I redid each and every wire using solder and heat shrink, and the 22 went away but the 41 remains. Using a digital meter I checked the four wires coming from the TPS plug to the ECU plugs for continuity. Three wires check out with zero resistance (good continuity), but the Blue/Red wire has resistance.
Looking at the wiring diagram I see that this wire shares a connection to the ECU with the same colored wire on the AFM. When I disconnect the harness at the AFM the resistance on the wire doesnt change, so the resistance is external to the AFM.
If you are following me so far...any advice where to look or how to resolve the TPS issue?
(PS. The TPS itself is adjusted properly and passes the bench tests for resistance. I have tried 2 different ones as well just in cace and still have the code, so I dont believe the problem is in the TPS itself)
Cliffs: TPS code 41, believe issue is in the wiring, need help finding a way to track it down.
