My 1984 Celica Supra's an automatic and the overdrive button is broken
To use overdrive I have to hold down the button, Driving on the interstate my girlfriend ties cloth around it to hold it down lol.
The button used to lock when I bought it. But I took the stick all apart to paint my interior and I remember a small tiny spring flung out and I could never find it
I don't know why that spring would have to do anything with it because it still springs back
it just doesn't lock
Anyone know how to fix this problem?

I don't think the TSRM covers this.

Go to a Toyota dealer have them pull up the illustrated parts break down of the shifter and print it for you, that will give you a good idea where and what it does, If you order it from them it may cost ya.

So I did what yea said :)
Turns out the part I need is not in the US and would cost $150 if it was
To get it shipped from Japan would cost me like $300 for a spring the size of a pin tip lol

I thought the coffee and beer were just swapped out in the IV drip. Coffee for the morning and beer for the rest of the day.

Yours = How much beer you going to bribe me with, to get back to work on your harness :facesjump

Shouldn't need to bribe you with any beer as that harness is well paid for already.
Hoping to get this beast running before the nats, how about you? :)

LMAO, condsidering If I show up, wire it, and you don't have replacement parts, for the borrowed items, you still won't have a running car when I leave :D Beer bribes are in your best interest ....
Now, seriously, get the car ready for me.

Why check w/ the dealer???? There are peeps here that have copies of the EPC that can post the exploded picture of the shift handle.
The quicker way, is probably ask Mark.
