I have my head off, and I am looking at it trying to determine if I wanna repair the spark plug threads, and I noticed that lash adjuster #4 on the exhaust side is really tight in its bore. I mean, I had to fight for about 30 minutes to get it out. It is tight from about half its height all the way in. So I can get it halfway in or out, but if I push it in further, it is really hard to push in or get out. Should I try to hone the bore out?
I checked, and this bore is tight on any lash adjuster I try, and the lash adjuster from #4 exhaust is fine in the other bores, so I don't think the lash adjuster is the problem.
Just for reference, I bought this car with a blown head gasket, so I had the head milled about 2 yrs ago. Wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the head itself has a small warp. Very leaky cam towers no matter what I did.
Thanks

You could hone it a little if you want to. The adjuster does not move within the bore during normal operation, so as long as it gets seated all the way, it really doesn't matter. It's up to you. Tho it can be a sign of some warpage. Did they measure the warpage along the top of the head? Or did they just shave it and that's it? Many times when the head is pretty warped, a shop should heat it up and bend it back before shaving. I'd have it checked out properly before reusing it.
