Search is not working for me damn it.
Im trying to clean out the fuel tank in my friends 85 Supra, got it dropped after having a pain in the ass time with the stupid mail fuel line. I cant drain the last bit of gas in the tank and for the life of me figure out how Im going to clean the inside. I need suggestions, it would have been really helpful if there was a plate on top of the tank you could unbolt to clean it :|

I haven't cleaned one out but maybe some CLR might do the trick
Swish it around and scrub with a toilet brush.
Probably wont get behind the mid-tank.
Tell him to use Chevron from now on. My tank was shiny! I credit Chevron gas. I could be wrong.
Good luck!

If you take off the filler neck, fuel level sender unit and take out the fuel pump too. You'll have openings big enough to stick your arm into.
One of those holes on my 85 was big enough to stick my hand and forearm into.

Hahha, you can do what my friend did, fill it with rocks, shake it up real good so all the rocks break the rust loose, then rince it with water haha. also is the accord in your sig a 4x4?

I've heard of that as well. Would've done it, but don't wanna risk my only tank.

If you don't know what you are doing or how to find out what to do, perhaps a professional would be a good idea?
I recall a few years ago I found a really good writeup on google. It may not help you get your hand in there, but eh, my hand just barely fit and cut the hell out of it. I never got around to following the guide I found, but when replacing a pump a year ago I found that it had a ton of what may have been sugar or dirt in the bottom. So I will be taking it out and having a rad shop clean it out.

Really tho, the rock trick works, just make sure you get a buddy over to hold the other side of the tank and shake it for about 10 min, give it a good rinse, even after a water rinse put sum gas in there and rinse it out again. Also if you run huskey gas with the tank dont, i have been told time and time again there fuel has ethonal or w/e and always makes the rust seperate and brake off inside the tank.
