does anyone have any pics??? i wanna see how much they balloon out on the sides. i know 245's fit real nice on 8" wide rim...not so sure on a 7" wide rim. would be nice of the wheels were also 16" in diameter. the tire size im looking to get is 245/45/16, if that matters.

245's are too big for a x7 rim.

the wheels were also 16" in diameter. the tire size im looking to get is 245/45/16, if that matters. It matters a lot, actually. 245/60/14's are fine on 14"x7" wheels because you have plenty of sidewall. With 16"x7" wheels and a 45 sidewall ratio, you have a much shorter, stiffer sidewall.

I've done it... 245/45-16 on a 16x7 a long time ago. Not bad. 245/50 would be a little more balloon like.

is it a bad idea? ive got 16x7 mesh wheels, but if i cant run 245/45/16's, ill sell them for other wheels.

I would check out page one of the "tires that fit a mk II" thread and take a look at the SDR 85 with 16" Compomotives. Has that tire size.

I also bought some meshies which came with with 245/50's on a 7" rim in the rear; 225/50 front. They are shot and practically racing slicks in the rear, but fit, even with +23 (L type territory) offset wheels (by the tip of a finger-I'll leave 'em for now for clowning around). Don't know about dynamics on a 7 vs 8" rim though. Can't say the ride is anywhere near as nice as some good stock tires, but I've no treed left in rear. The stock ride is much smoother if you are an older geezer who likes a bit of balloon under your butt. (don't mean to start controversy, so don't bother). I'll post some poor pics.
Haven't had time, just got wheels. Hope this works and here goes:

Love your setup, William! I like the low coilovers up front. What springs are around back? Sorry for the jack.

*shrugs* I don't have pics, but I had 245 60-14's on my Rears for about a year until I smoked them drifting. On 14" rims they looks like they have HUGE sidewalls (because they do).

Pontiac GTA 16" rims are 7.5" wide and have a 245-50-16 tire. A 7" rim should be fine the tire will bulge more and will just be a little taller than on a 7.5" or 8" rim.
