So i bought two new headlamps for my 85 (both same brand, # and recommended from the owners manual) and the right side in particular would always burn out. However the old ones that i tried replacing works fine but is more dim compared to the left side (new). Any idea what causes this?

Ok so i've used the search tool and haven't came up with anything on the issue, but...
I've noticed when i was driving home at night, my headlamps would get brighter as i step on the pedal between stopping. I feel as if this is part of whats been causing my right headlamp in particular to go out on me after i replace it. Is it possible that there isn't any resistance on my right headlamp or is it something else? Sorry if this is a dumb question :S

How does your volt gauge look when you are stopped, as opposed to when you are driving?

The voltage goes up from 12v (idle) to 14v once i start accelerating. Also ticks slightly when i turn on any of the signal lights lol.
