Do you have them on the car already? Those sizes are a bit wide. No one makes tires that size.

Good luck, those are very odd sizes and they are to wide to fit the fronts and rears of a MKII without some body work first.

I too am looking for wider low-profile tires for a 15" wheel and cant seem to find anything wider than 225/50/15.

How wide is the rim? When you go with a lower profile tire, you need to pay attention to how wide the rim is since there is not as much area for the sidewalls to "flex".

Not sure how wide Tyacrzy's wheels are, but mine are 15x8.5". Did some searching on Yahoo/Google and couldn't find any company making something in the 225+ range.

Yeah with a 15" rim, you are going to be very limited on sizes since 15s are not a very popular size anymore. You would need to go with 16+ to find wide low profile tires.

Most likely 17s to get 255s+.

285's won't fit the rear? I'm running 255/40/17s with still a bit of room left. Was going to sneak some 285's or 290's under there with that space. (yes that's with suspension travel accounted for) ;) Really want to try a 10.5" under there too.

I guess I will have to take your word on this Leon, from my figures I thought 275 would be widest guaranteed to not rub. I am not great with wheel offsets and the like, I'm better with engines and wiring than with the car itself.
If you would care to explain this better, hit me with a PM, I have to start figuring my traction out for net year.

well I could be wrong too! haha you know I haven't driven the red car in over a year.... I have an odd offset too +34mm w/ a 1 1/2 inch adapter to space them back out.. It's messed up...
P.S. I like the wires and engines better too! fts with the rest of the car :zzzzz:

That is why you can find wider tires......the question was for 15" rims and the tire availabilty.

oh I know... I wanted to comment on something..
here's the info he's looking for...
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compare1.jsp?width=255%2F&ratio=60&diameter=15&startIndex=0&search=true&pagelen=20&pagenum=1&pagemark=1&RunFlat=All&x=81&y=8
...that's all 255/60/15s you can play with the search tool a little but that just shows the tires are out there..
