Free Gas!!

So since my first post was a question I figure I'll offer up some info that might help someone out. How I increased my MPG (or KPL if that's what you're into)
Car was getting 16 mpg when I bought it.
Replaced spark plugs increased to 17 mpg
Added some no-name injector cleaner to a half tank increased to 18 mpg
Added some over priced injector cleaner (sea foam I think it's called) and am now at 20 mpg

Not yet at the 24-26 that people have reported but not bad for a 24 year old 6 cylinder with 160k miles. First time I've seen injector cleaner make that big a difference so if you haven't tried it yet, do it.

Sea foam is not just a fuel injector clearner, you may want to read the lable a little closer to all it can do.

And yes you figured out one really good thing: if your car is in good running shape, it gets better gas mileage. Next you will probably find out that your O2 sensor needs changed and you get above 20mpg.........

Had a bad o2 sensor in my first supra and it did make a difference. I forgot to include on the list that was the first thing I did when I got this car. Timing was also off a few degrees but neither of those changed the mileage in this case.

Check the air filter yet?

Check your tire pressure too and ignore the sticker in the glove compartment that says 27psi. Keep your tires 32-35 psi (Do not exceed the marked sidewall max pressure) as modern tires will handle that fine..
