There is an 82 Supra dead or abandoned along the highway in my town. Been there for 3 days so far. Does anyone know anything about putting in a claim? Its an automatic but has some nice original seats, tail lights, etc... Could be a great parts car.

I'm not 100% but I think you need to start by checking with the dot and see what they can tellyou about it or see if they can tell you who owns it. 3days is nothing. cars sit on highways and roads around here for a week or better before the dot removes them.

Sometimes it can take 3 days just to find a way to haul it home!

Put a note on the car telling him you may buy the car if he is going to end it..

That the way I got my 2nd supra it had blown the engine and he would not afford more on that car...

what u could do is run the tag on it and try to find a phone number for the owner and try to make contact with him that way

I pulled over yesterday and got a better look at it without darkness or rain. It wasn't in very good condition: hood and right front fender dented, windshield cracked, left fog light and headlight had damage, had L-type rims. The hatch, tail lights looked good. Seats looked OK but a little dirty. Can't remember about the dash. Doesn't matter since its gone today which was the sixth day. I did find out the procedure for abandoned cars. The Police call in a tow company to haul it off the road and they have to keep it for 30 days before auctioning it off. I'm guessing salvage value at that point. I got a list of Tow Companies that the city uses so I could follow up but I'm sure the owner finally got it off the road.

i would leave it there, or see if you can get it cheap if you need the parts. i had my celica inpounded after i wrecked it. it sat there for a few day. it ended up going to cost me more then what the car was worth. so i told them they could keep. so they ended up adjusting the paper, and i got it back cheap.
