While leaving work, I was waiting at an intersection, with my left turn signal on. Next thing I know, CRUNCH. This makes my 2nd Supra that got hit.
If it would have been my MKII, I really wouldn't have cared all that much, BUT, I was in my MKIII. For those that have seen it, you know why.
Driver side rear quarter is buckled, bumper cover is, well, screwed.
I didn't bother to try to open the hatch for fear of not getting it closed again.
My neck and back are fine, I'm just aggravated....
Once again, I'm at the mercy of an insurance company.
Pics will follow.

That sucks to hear Joe. I would definitely fight for as much as you can get especially if the car was super clean. A lot of guys on supramania were getting $5k+ for their wrecked mk3s. Find as many high priced mk3s on ebay, craigslist, autotrader, etc. similar to yours in the same condition and/or miles. Print them out and wait for the insurance company to lowball the hell outta you because they are going to.

Ouches.

I have a 91 shell that originates from PA.

Pay the shipping and you can have it. Rolling chassis, but fairly stripped.

Originally black with shadow gray interior (gone), 130k

If you were on the East coast, I'd consider it.
I'm going to get my ducks in a row and see what happens.

That's bites big time Joe. For those that haven't seen this car .... I would have kept/driven it, had I gotten my hands on it --- that, from the guy that feels 95% of all mkiii's are nothing but donor cars.

Solo1Supra
12-29-2008, 06:28 PM
Thanks guys, yes he has insurance, he already stopped in and gave them the scoop.
Part that bites is, he's a friend of mine from years ago.
Shawn, depending on what happens, I may have to hit you up for a 7MGTE swap harness, although I hope it doesn't have to come to that.

Gotta be careful here ...unfortunately. No ride in the aid car, from the scene, can screw you .... BTDT. If I EVER, get hit again, I'll be going for a ride, and the car will get towed .... even if I feel OK at the time.

AJ

Shawn agreed Sir...

I got a check for a stiff neck and my doctor told me to take off 10 shifts, never signed the medical release.

I got more grief from my insurance company when I filed a hit and run report for a vehicle parked on my own property???

$1852 and change is the estimate.

It tentatively goes in on the 26th to get redone.

Ohhh man, I feel your pain all too well. But in my case it was my beloved MKII on the freeway by a drunk driver. Don't you just wanna punch idiots like that?

I always wondered how people could hit a car that is sitting still in front of them. That is until I saw the car in front of me hit a PARKED car on the side of a city street at 35mph right before my own eyes. And there was even a passenger to warn the driver, lmao. Both were messing with stuff and the car slowly started veering off to the right. So I slowed down, and I remember thinking in my head "um HELLLOOOOO" as it approached the parked car. Then wham, older Nissan right into the rear of a newer parked Tbird. Everyone was fine, but I couldn't believe my eyes. And I tell you what, I took great pleasure in telling the cop what happened. He just looked over at them to be sure they couldn't see him, shook his head and laughed. And this was even at about 9 in the morning on the way to work mind you.

Don't worry you will either get it fixed better than new, or get one even better if it's possible.. I hope it all works out for you!

I look at 3rd and 4th Gen. Supras, as Donor cars.
