ok lets make a list of the most Badass cars of all time and a short explanation of why they are badass.

My #1 The Dodge Charger. Why?? Cause thats what the bad guys always drove, a big beast of a Charger.

Dirty Mary Crazy Larry

Even the new movie by Quentin Tarantino Deathproof (although terrible) had the bad guy behind the wheel.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd237/88camrycrazy/Random/rides-of-grindhouse-200703271159051.jpg

Ocasically the good guys drove the Charger too.

#2 The Shelby Cobra, because it still owns face on the track to this day.

#3 The Chevelle SS, Because a 454 was Badass

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd237/88camrycrazy/Random/1971ChevroletChevelleSSCoolidgeKD.jpg

#4 1967 Mustang Shelby GT500 KR. (King of the road was badass)

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd237/88camrycrazy/Random/ford_mustang_shelby_gt500.jpg

#5 The Callaway Sledgehammer corvette. faster car in the world at the time, and that was badass.

Too lazy to post pics....maybe somebody else will. 3 of my favorite baddass cars from the movies:

1) 1977 Trans Am in Somkey and the Bandit (figures I would say that)
2) Chopped 1950 Mercury (Awsom 50) in Cobra (Stallone's ride)
3) Max Max's car - the last of the V8 Interceptors!

Ferrari F40. The first productio ncar to break the into 200mph top speed. and doing so with 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds. big tires, big brakes 478hp and only 2400lbs so it corners amazingly well. It does all this while looking good. It's the definitive super car and that's badass.

And the car the unseated the F40...

http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r44/mdjett/rufyellowbirdback1081479467.jpg

Ruf Yellowbird is just badass. No other way to describe it. I'd probably toss a few other Porsche turbos in there too (930, 935, 956). While the new cars are faster, somehow I'm more impressed with the fact they got sub 5 second 0-60 times and over 300HP out of a 3 liter engine without a single computer in the car.

badass yes, F40 killer, no. it's just a steel and fiberglass bodied 911 (which are deathtraps) with a lot of boost. even so it's heavier with less brake and less tire. the only category it is superior in is top speed and that's due to a lack of downforce!

I want one. but if I had an F40, I wouldn't drive the yellowbird ;)

That is a Camaro is a '69, not '68 (you can see the rear spoiler), also here is the site that had that exact car for sale (same pic too): http://www.collectormotors.com/cars_sold/1969CamaroSS.htm
Those '67 Mustangs use to be "custom" from UniquePerformance (before they were busted). I still don't know what to think about the "Elenor" hood though.

Lots of great cars posted, (not sure about the 1980 AMC Eagle) ) but the Superbird is one of the holy grails of racing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plymouth_Superbird

Always was a FORD guy. MOPARS have been well represented. So some other great GM's IMO are "Yenkyo" Chevelles, Camaros, and Novas. (VEGA's??)

W-16 engine 1001hp 4 turbochargers 14 radiators
Top Speed: 407 km/h 253 mph

At top speed tires last about 15 minutes, but that doesn't matter,
Fuel lasts only 12 minutes.

Top speed video it a little long but pretty damn cool:

it's mainly because there isn't a single place with large surface area...so they must use many small ones.

It's actually 10 though,
3 for the engine, 1 for the intercooler, 2 for the a/c, 1 tranny, 1 diff, one engine oil and one for the hydraulically operated spoiler

Gotta love Back to the Future.

This makes me really want to go take some shots in my dad's garage. He would be pissed if I did. He's doing a, ummm, I'm not sure how he "phrases" it, "body off frame restoration" or something. Let's just say he's spent way to much money. He's probably spent more on then engine then I spent on my car, engine, parts, and tools.

He also has a picture in our basement of "The 50 Fastest" list.

I'll have to snap a picture of that later.

I saw this thing driving around town. Thought it was weird when he was going 40 in 1st gear. when he grabbed second you could tell he was being conservative with the throttle. was this cars first runs also. before the land speed record. Had no f***ing clue what kind of car it was and couldn't figure it out. I was just getting gas one day in my little town a few years ago. saw it take off.

haha! great choices Jamie! I totally agree with that lambo too.

I love every car on here, and I'm truly not a bat-shit crazy Ferrari fan boy, but I've got to add another, since it hasn't been mentioned yet. This car only exists in 39 examples unfortunatley, and valued at nearly 10 million dollars. It carries a 300hp 3.0L V12 propelling the stunning and light 2300lb chassis. Nick Mason in his book "into the red" chose it as his favourite car. He said it feels like you're part of the vehicle...every movement and gear change feels like it means something. The handling, power, smell, sound, and vibrations are perfect. I present to thee, the 250 GTO!

this car should need no introduction, but definitely needs to be in this thread.

A guy down the road from me(out of my suburban neighborhood and into mansionville) invented the modern radar detector - Valentine I think??? A friend of mine knows him and got me into his place for a personal tour.

This car was raced by Ferrari.

He had to get the newer GTO to match :)

He said he paid too much for this one, bought it spur of the moment out of someone's living room in Florida I think he said:

There's Vettes too...lots of them and only the best or ones that are historically significant/fuelies:

Somedays I feel like I'm living the dream in my piece of sh!t Chrysler, a 12.71 this day and my personal best is 12.54:

Hoping to get a MK2 someday and I saw that one in northern Minnesota right now, but then I want to get a new Challenger too. Gotta(would be smartest) sit tight on the funds now though.

Well, I see there's no sense in me posting any pix now because that Ferrari collection is definitely badass. I'm pretty much a Chevy guy and love all of the Yenko cars, but since pix of both the Yenko's, the Ferrari collection and the Lamborghini Countach have been posted, that pretty much covers it for me. :)

His name in Jim Jaegers, I think he sold his half of the company to Valentine. He's in one of the pictures with the checked shirt.

But he and Valentine were old high school friends and worked as engineers for Crosley Broadcasting here in Cincy, got contracted out by the government to do radar work during the Vietnam War. They were car geeks and bought a "Fuzz Buster" and took it apart for fun and realized what a piece of crap it was so they built their own. They tried to sell theirs to "Fuzz" who laugfhed in their face - and the rest is history :)

Eric... Ive been aware of that collection for a long time. Ive regarded that as one of the premiere garages as well... and Ive seen lots of sick stuff.

Kudos to you!

Yeah - and just think, he had to sell his REAL Gransport Corvette last year to pay to re-do his house when it burned down. He said he was only insured for 5 mil and needed 10 mil to get it how it was. Said he couldn't disclose the sale price...so he told me to guess at the sale amount knowing that :)

-mk2 supra & mk4 supra
-dodge charger and challenger
-69 camaro ss
-ra28 celica
-Hemi cudas
-i think i saw a chevelle if not mistaken
-Shelby gt500

maybe a few otheres but

most of the cars displayed are pure shitt....the lamborghinis & ferraris are balling but lets face who the fuck could afford one plus at that price i could make a car thats a shit load faster...

Btw fuck those nasty looking track cars....this thread is about beasty looking cars not freakin space age lookin cars.... ...just my opinion

Lambo's and shiet fail.... You want to spend $300k on a car, that you drive like 3k before selling, brakes jobs are like stupid money. What 5,10k I keep hearing.

So for oh lets say $300k you could have:
Every Generation Supra, a mint pick up truck with a few modifications, hell maybe a boat, a dirt bike, sea doo, atv or snow mobile and still have a some money left over.

Too many of my tops to list, but the usual mk4, mk3 on jenny20 diet, R32, charger, mk2, mr2, subaru sti....

My dad had one of these, a 1970 buick gsx stage1, it had the slap shift from the factory IIRC and it ran 13's stock. He loved it dearly but sold it to a family member, there were less than 1k made (I hate him for selling it:duh:)
http://i677.photobucket.com/albums/vv133/DylanMk2/1_1033.jpg
My dad was a bodyman for a long time and has owned over 100 cars (or so he claims). A few of the awesome ones are 1967 corvette conv. blue, 1969 camaro z28 (engine blew and was replaced with a 350 with upgrades), the intimidating GSX of course, my favorite a 1973 240z pylon racer (he totaled it:32:) lime green lol, 1991 dodge stealth he still has (should I get it? it is fwd), a 198* 300zx N/a silver w/t-tops (sold cheap and crashed by a woman:duh:), dodge challenger and charger (318's I beleive), 1967 gto (free with no front seats, eng., and trans...still has), 1965 mustang pony car 289 auto (non fastback), that's enough for now I need to eat:D
Also he has sold most and got out of the bodyman trade but he will help me paint my supra and fix body/engine areas.
