What is the general outcome of swapping in a JDM engine. Are they trust worthy. Are they worth it? I'm considering a 6mge swap in my 85 mk2.
My 5mge is getting extremly tired but I don't want to spend 1000$ and be in the same boat a month down the road.

If you do decide to drop a JDM, I would check the motor out, or have someone check it out......Ive seen a JDM motor on here that someone bought and was gunna drop it in, but decided to check it......It was so frickin nasty inside......shit was just a mess......(didnt change oil, or at least is appeared). Sooooooo, I'd have it checked out or if you really want and have the money, you can buy the JDM motor and rebuild it or rebuild and sup it up....if you have the $...heres a few sites for JDM motors.....not too terebly expensive:
