Hey guys...
Here's my poor baby:
Panel work has been done and still a bit more to go, she was rough when i picked her up, and has been sitting in the garage for a few years while i had no spare cash to do anything

Been spending a long time trying to find a replacement engine for my GA61 1G-GE 2L dohc 6 mk2 and finally given up.
Looked at the cost to rebuild my current engine... NZ$1500 cause half the parts arent available here and have to come out ex japan or be custom made cause theres no listings for them... so...
Looked for another engine, couldnt find one that i could garuntee was a runner and good engine...

Then decided fine, i'll do a conversion... and then a friend stumbled on this donor car for NZ$400:

Has a bit of panel damage, is very rough condition inside, and has a blown auto trans. 2JZ-GE non VVTi, and of course, i have everything i need in the engine bay, except driveline

I will post updates as i go, im looking at 3 months to get this on the road from the date that i get the driveline.
I am still missing clutch, flywheel and bellhousing but ive been out getting prices and the project will be underway as soon as my other car sells and i have more fundage lol.

I would like to say that I'm the first in NZ to do this conversion, but i'm not sure, I'm the first that i know about, but that doesnt mean someone else hasnt...

Very lucky to be in NZ where you can buy a whole car for less then $1000 especially an Aristo. As Woggin stated, there are a few guys in Australia that are driving around in 2JZGE MA61s with some of it documented on the web. Keep us posted in what you do every step of the way...

Cheers.
