Thanks to Jay for helping us connect with Va Speed. I think we're gonna have loads of fun this year.

a couple of notes:
Drag racing is totally out this year. (at least for this meet)

All Toyota and Lexus models are invited so tell all your friends.

Va Speed gave us two free dyno pulls to raffle off. depending on how many cars show up, there maybe more free stuff.

I'll be putting more info up on the site as I get info, I'll be in Va Beach on March 4th or 5th to find other fun things to do.

everyone is welcome to come drool over the supras. Parking is going to be limited (at least anywhere near the building) to meet participants only(All Toyota and Lexus).

I hear rumor of a 2Jz turbo powered IS300 planning to attend... a couple swaps into a MKII from what I was told, but I've been sworn to secrecy, so that's all I can say. I'd love to see a 1JZ MKIII swap there too...

Since someone has put up this Question...

I have talked to a local hotel manager in VB who always bring his Camry in our shop for some service work.... he said to let him konw how many poeple is interested so that he can reserve the block but I would need this information three weeks before the meet so that he could give me a discounted price cause you guys know that VB is a tourist spot and it gets high on summer days for a hotel and gets pretty busy

alright fellas,

anyone that is interested in a hotel room, email me at webmaster@masupras.com and I'll get a list going to keep track of things easier. I may integrate this into the event listing too, dunno yet though, I'll have to think on it.

Jommel, I'll give you the URL for the list so you can let him know when the time is appropriate.

for those that are already signed up, I'll be sending out a reminder email within the week.

I'm also going to be in Va Beach most likely May 9th to check in with Va Speed and see how things are shaping up. (I should have the 7M SDR XX at the meet on the 8th in Balto.)

I'll be there with the one in my sig even if I have to put it on a trailer and pull it there using my dog. a friend west of me is still debating if he can come or not. Matt H will be there, but with his Pontiac (blown oil cooler hose = very bad for 7M-GTE)

I've got a few others with MKIIs going to show up, several from SF.com has signed up, this hasn't gone well in the past....but we'll see I guess. Also, several MKIVs have signed up as well as at least one turbo'd IS300, other Toyota makes I'm not too sure of, but I have been getting many interested emails.

tentatively, this looks like it will be larger than last year. We've worked hard to have fun and inexpensive things this year. we've decided not to do the drag racing at a track this year too, the dyno was actually a bonus that Va Speed wanted to do it for us, Thanks to Jommel for finding that cool bonus for us.

all in all, if it does rain, I'm expecting the ass kick'nest MKII meet in the east because noone else will likely show up. (no offence of course  )

Regarding directions from the North, it depends on when you are traveling, and what part of PA you are coming from for deciding I-95 or I-81.

I-95 is the shortest (by 80 miles), but the issue is DC area traffic on Friday afternoons (3-6PM) from Springfield, VA to Woodbridge. It is usually stop-and-go for 20 miles (1 hour). A new off ramp has just opened from the inner loop of the Beltway to I-95S at the Springfield Mixing Bowl, which has eliminated most of the backup on the Beltway, saving 15 minutes.

If you’re coming from Baltimore, take the BW Parkway rather than I-95 between Baltimore and DC (shorter), and then the Beltway clockwise (construction on I-295, so I wouldn’t recommend that route). You also may slow around the Woodrow Wilson Bridge (crossing the Potomac).

If you’re coming I-81/I-70/I-270, take the Beltway Counter-clockwise to I-95.

The DC news and traffic station is WTOP 107.7 FM, 1500 AM.

Another option is US-13 through Delaware and across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel ($10) if you’re coming from Philly.

From Richmond, take I-64 to Norfolk, then I-264 East to [edited - see Rob's directions below - Mapquest and Yahoo don't work for this road]

The address of the meet is 1397 Taylor Farm Rd, VB 23453

Solo1Supra

Outstanding directions, Thanks Rich.
For me, 81 or 95 is a toss up. Since I'll be leaving about 3 in the morning on Saturday, either way, I won't hit too much traffic.

MWebber
05-29-2004, 09:46 PM
actually, Yahoo shows Taylor Farm Ct. not Taylor Farm Rd.

you'll need to get on 264 east,
Take I-264 to Lynnhaven Pkwy South (Exit 19A).

follow Lynhaven Pkwy South until you get to Lynhaven mall. Turn left onto International Dr. (across from the Lynnhaven Mall main entrance).

Turn right onto London Bridge Rd.

Taylor Farm Rd is approximately 1 mile on the left (Forbes Candy factory is on the corner, can't miss this building). Turn Left on Taylor Farm Rd.

Virginia Speed is located about 1/3 of a mile on the right hand side at 1397 Taylor Farm Rd.
====================
Parking near the building and driveway is reserved for Toyota and Lexus Owners only . All observers please park away from the driveway and building.

I've gotten a hotel it appears, I'm calling them tonight to see what the pricing wil be. (this is near Va Speed, and away from the beach, so it should be a bit cheaper from the start.)

yee haw, AC works, 46F outlet at low. I'll be there. Even better, the AC clutch is working well.

BTW, is TomD going to show? Does he even know about it? Realize only us MK II types care who Tom D is.

Well I made it back last night around 8 left VA Beach at about 930 AM. Sorry guys for not sticking around for lunch on Sunday, I was getting kind of homesick and thought It would be best to get an early start on the long drive. It was really great to see so many MK2's show up, It really made the trip worthwhile to see all of your cars in person and meet some of you. The ride home was pretty good other than the fact that the Mallory ignition died on me somewhere in the middle of South Carolina. Gave me a scare for a minute after cruising at 80 for several hours to have the car shut off on you completely and coast onto the median. I opened the hood didnt see anything that looked wrong, and it didnt make any noises before it shut off and there was no smoke or odor, I noticed that the fuel pressure guage still showed pressure so I figured it was a spark problem. Luckilly I have it wired up with plugs that allow me to put it back to stock in about 10 seconds. It cranked right up and I was on my way. Im not sure if it died or maybe the tach adapter overheated, I will mess with it later this week when I can find the time. For now theres lots of laundry and things to put away, and a lot of things to get caught up on. Thanks Mike for setting up the meet I look forward to coming back again!!!!

I didn't make it back until about 5 pm yesterday as well. I didn't have any problems except no a/c for the weekend. I guess Wes is too shy to tell you guys he got "Best of Show" for the weekend for MKII!! (damn white cars! j/k) We had a great turn out and there were a lot of cars there from all Toyota brands. I didn't do as well on the dyno as I would have hoped but I found my problem, too much pressure form the RRFPR. I lowered it this morning and the car pulled strong like it is supposed to. I only got 185 HP and 228 torque. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Yeah I took best MK2 and Highest HP N/A M engine. It was real close between me and CJ and Mike made the right decision in letting someone from VA Speed to do the judging. I'm not sure if Smooth85 was there in time for the judjing or not, that blue car looked relly good. I took a bunch of pictures and will get them to Mike to post on the MASupras site sometime soon. I found out part of the problem with the dyno readings. They were not correcting for temperaturea and humidity like most places do. If you open the software on the disk you will be able to apply the STD correction factor to your runs. My corrected 2nd run is actually 145hp/146tq which is still low in my opinion, but its better than before.
