I think it would be useful to have somehting on here letting you know you have a pm, just a change in the icon similar to the way the topics are when new things are posted.

(If this is already a feature, delete this, and blame it on the fact I can't think in a linear fashion due to the fact tomorrow I should be driving my supra again :), for the first time since mid December.)

Follow the Profile link at the top (under the banner), scroll down to Preferences and pick 'Notify on new Private Message:'

You then get a pop-up and an email every time.
