In the beginning it was a regular old auto 3sp 4dr 1980 TE72 Corolla.

A bottom of the barrel, no options, busted head gasket, cheap-o sedan for $150. Spent $146 getting it on the road.

Cleaned it up a bit, fixed busted head gasket and tried out those crazy 2" spacers I had laying around. Made the stock steel wheels so flush, 240 owners are jealous.
http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r279/ElectricSpace/Misc/Old%20Yellar/Beginning/th_oldyellar5.jpg (http://s146.photobucket.com/albums/r279/ElectricSpace/Misc/Old%20Yellar/Beginning/?action=view&current=oldyellar5.jpg)

Finally found some of your guys' OEM wheels that look great on anything with our 4x114.3 bolt pattern. Also found some Mercedes foggies, tho they had to complicate even simple headlights by making the backing metal, which made them ground out and turn on all the time.
Also switched out front suspension to the mo betta GTS ae86 vented disc and tanabe springs (pathetic 1" drop means cut a coil out for better stance) and rolled away the rear wheel arches. Fronts I left alone for now.

Added a cost-effective ("cheap" sounds so low quality and urban) and simple sound system, Rican style steering wheel and chrome TE3X front and rear bumpers since they're so hot and some jackass up north wants $1000 for the same thing...what?
I mainly just drove it since I wanted it all original with mods that can be changed back. This only lasted about a year or so..then came the mods that couldn't be reversed like the ma60 rear and hood pins.

Super sick custom under-diff 1"11/16 lol Had to keep it quiet now the MA60 rear is in, but the exhaust wouldn't fit.

Had fun with it for the next few months, but it developed an overheating problem that I really didn't care to fix, so on the Phase 1 and I will update soon!

What does Bt stand for? In corolla-land, that is blacktop 20v. I know I'll feel dumb once I know what it is lol

Phase 1 (almost skipped phase 1)

I gotta go super lazy and post a link. I got a bunch of crap to get done on this jz!

OP, Nice car :)

te is the secks, not sucks, but nobody realizes it cause that silly 3tc being no fun in stock form.
My ma60 rear isn't put in right. I'd have to cut the floor and 'french' the front x-member in like mini-truckers do their license plates...no way, so I guess I'll deal with crazy camber. Mark at vantucky toyota was telling me bout a discontinued kit, but I'm sure z31 or some trailing link suspension'd car will work fine.

Do you have a build thread on the TE or is it just stock DD? I could do 2nd gear burnouts (1 wheel peel) at a standing point, but would lose the burnout within 10ft of letting off the brake lol

trizkit-sure enough, I feel like a silly goose for not knowing bt.

More phase 1
http://s146.photobucket.com/albums/r279/ElectricSpace/Misc/Old%20Yellar/Phase%201/More%20phase%201/

ma60 hi pressure fuel line fits with little bends, reuse old carb feed line for drain back, ma40 1 piece driveshaft fits perfect on the ma60 rear to the w58 (wow! how can this be??), double jointed steering shaft - half PS ae86 column+manual u-joint from ae86+mr2 steering rack, full ae86 x-member+struts/brakes, need to find a toyota factory radiator that has bottom coolant hose on the pass side and top on the driver side and be 16"x26" max. Thinking MR2 with dual electric pull type fans and inline rad cap.

Made engine mounts out of cardboard for a friend who is a machinist. Stupid cardboard...took like 5 tries to figure out the odd different angles cause I'd cut too much or wrong angle, but they're done! Don't know when I'll get them, but I'm hoping soon!

Next to figure out trans mount. The trans mount on the tail housing is about 5 inches too far back from the regular trans bolt holes and I don't think it'll be too much weight on a c shaped plate...we'll see.

JZE72

Mounts are done. Big problem is the speed-o will be way off so I gotta find a speed-o cable and speed-o from some car that would fit. I have an x8 cluster, but its too odd shaped to fit in this rolla's long dash cluster area.

Whats left:
trans mount, cooling, IC mounting/piping, finish fueling system, clutch & flywheel, starter, reinstall its missing face, exhaust and fluids.

most of us click the newpost button at the top, which show's all the new post's since we have last been active on the forum, or for the day.

Nice going, any pictures of the finished mount's or the motor set into the engine bay?

found some...

You mean the mount in the way of the down pipe? Its not touching even hanging there. Is there something I'm missing that I need to know before I proceed? Do share! I don't want to redo things :)

Here is what I'm most proud of. Speed-o and trans mount.

Few problems....I'm going manual rack so how do I tension the belt? Do I make something or does something swap over from 7m of some sort? I can make something, but if something bolts on, I'm all for that 100%. So far the only thing not toyota are the mounts :D

Also need to find a radiator. 26x16 top hose on dr side and bottom on pass side. Think I found a rad that fits but is from a 94 mazda protogay...was thinking mr2 cause its 14" and fits great. Inline cap would be best in my situation as the radiator is going directly under the core support. Was hoping to find a toyota radiator in those dimensions that has a neck that sticks out past and a little above the top of the rad unlike a fiero with the cap on the top corner kind of thing, or even on top. Can't use any of those kinds :(

Biggest prob is the belt for now. Got tie rods on order and I can sit it down on the ground to see how things act.

There was no way to be prepared for this like I was for the monte carlo project haha! HAd to order 3 (or so) things for the carlo, but had all 350, all t5 to directly go in.....this is nothing like that. *I'm rambling again* Time to get dirty!

Thanks guys! I didn't expect the celica/supra crowd to praise my work. I already know the corolla crowd would cry about putting a heavy i6 in it, but deep down they're jealous ;)

I'm ashamed...I have german parts on my 1j :( Alternator tension bracket from 87 audi 5k twatro for the alt, pivoting on a normal short-thread 14mm seems to work. Now to find a belt that fits.

Also got new tie rods for $49.XX! Last I checked they were $28 just for the inners....EACH. That mighta been PS but o well.

Searched for 22"x15 radiator (new size) and was unsuccessful. Tried 86 volvo 240, 87 audi 5k, 88 civic wagon 4x4, and mr2 and none work even half-assed.

7m starter DOES NOT WORK. I compared the 1j starter thats dead to a new 7m turbo starter and everything is different even down to overall size.

Need oil dipstick, too :(

btw, who is driving the white p type w/stock wheels up and down my road?? Its kinda annoying exhaust makes me look every time cause it sounds like a v6 integra lol

So a little update....I am even more ashamed...more german junk.

1988 porsche 944 radiator fits with a little trimming. Top hose on the dr side and bottom on the pass side...perfect! Rad looks even less than a year old.

Yes, thats a single 12mm bolt+nut+2 strange shaped washers holding it in place with vacuum line cut for spacers and protection against chafing lol

Dropped it on the ground and the manual rack w/new tie rods (inner and outer) feels so much lighter in this than my ae gts...how can that be? Low tires on kitty litter? Either way, it is prolly fooling me...come on 1.8 4cyl+auto compared to 2.5t 5sp is a big difference.

Decided the IC is going under bumper cause if the IC doesn't clear something, the oil pan won't and thats a little difficult to change or fix. I'm fairly certain I'll have hood clearance issues.

Exhaust, IC, might rob flex-lite from my ae gts for this but need an electric fan, lower radiator hose, heater core lines, filters/fluids, whiteline sway bar to clear oil pan, friend is recommending fuel surge tank...guess so but my reg fuel tank is baffled?, hook up fuel system and mount fuel filter as well as fasten return line and hi pressure line to the body OFF the trans, non-PS 6 rib belt and wiring (omg i really am freaking out about wiring) is all thats left minus the little stuff like pull trans to put clutch/fly in, hook up the speed-o cable, install 7m starter, filtration of some sort, overflow bottle, etc. Getting down to the nitty gritty!

Found a metal mk4 supra pcv valve, found a non PS/AC belt that fits without the need for that silly audi tension bracket (yessss one less german part!) and got the downpipe bolted up...now to figure out the wiring. The coil wires were cut before I got the harness and they don't match to the coil plug wires I have so I gotta sort that out and also need to figure out if I can make my own mini-harness for the left over 2 right ECU plugs...think I can, but dunno for sure.

Also need to find a walbro since my 82 ma60 fuel pump prolly wont cut it. I'll then join it with a surge tank with the ma60 fuel pump feeding the surge tank after the gas tank.
Also need an mr2 inline radiator cap.....then all the cooling is taken care of! yaaay! Robbing my gts rolla for the e-fan since it has mondo room for a random junkyard fan.

I'm going pro! I wired in the alt, nee the charge wire (8g or so) and it'll work for sure! I know it will cause the dash lights came on and the whole thing didn't burn down! yessss

I need a wiring diagram for the 80 TE non-CA in specific as it is appearing to be already wired in for EFI and electric fan. Must be all those extra plugs that aren't plugged into anything and have rubber caps? I know the TE came with 3T-E overseas and had electric fan for AC. This will work out great cause the porsche radiator has a temp sensor and I got the plug. yesssss!

Also wired in the coils. Don't know if they're all good till it comes time to kick er over.
Still needing IC couplers. Need 2¼x3-4 and a reducer 2½ to 2¼. Friend says I can go little bigger and be ok with stock boost.

I can NOT make my own harness. I gotta add wires in like crazy! So confusing how things are spliced in to other things...

Got the charge wire, now to put it in...been super busy with other stuff. Thanks to Mr. Koolguy Kyle for lending me a 5ft strand of his house wiring spool, all of which he needs 30ft of. Hey, its wire right?

Finished the IC today. What a WHORE to cut shop shop cut cut grind, weld/seagull poo it all together, refit, realize one side is 2.5" and the one you've half way finished at 3am is 2.25" *shit*

Just need to add some stabilizer brackets for the IC and vola.

Still need high pressure/return fuel lines hooked up and mounted properly (zipties are cool and all, but.....), bleed clutch and brakes, fill trans, engine, make upper support bracket for clutch pedal (dreaded) and wiring. There are some other small details, but thats what I got off the top of my head so far.

time for pictures!!

p.s. DON'T laugh at my welds/seagull poo. I know they're aesthetically unpleasant, but they seal and that's all I give a damn about, besides, I think they're ok for going at the whole welding thing gung ho no training.

soild core wire isn't the best for low voltage dc car stuff...

JZE72

This is finished mock up, but those are to be replaced for sure. See how I had to loop 2 clamps together to make 1 clamp? I'm also replacing the couplers with slightly longer ones as 3 of them are just for holding purposes. The 3 blue ones are to stay for sure, but there are 3 more to be replaced.

I also found that the harness I got is a MK4 supra harness, not what I was told. Its strange...the coil plugs were missing, random plugs missing and the harness matches to a 2jz harness perfectly wire for wire while at least one wire out of the bunch will not match if it were 1j...oh well it works fine for me, just don't like being lied to. I would've bought it anyways.

Any suggestions, feel free to make mention!

I need a second inline fuel pump and small tank for fuel surge. Should I bother with coolant a surge tank?

Down to the nitty gritty now.

For that one german part I discarded, there are 2 to take its place. Couldn't find an MR2 inline radiator cap, so decided to go the route porsche went with this radiator. Went back for the rubber tube, half the size of the regular coolant lines, go to a holding/reserve tank with a cap on it. Also had an overflow fitting on it. Not sure of the point, but I'll sport it anyways.
Volvo reserve tank, saab cap (maximum shame) on datsun 620 charcoal can holder (triple shame...datsun parts on my rolla :() and the cooling is 100% solved and done.
Made up (looks very ghetto, but is solid and sealed) a metal reach-around pipe that goes around the TB IC pipe and fits onto the porsche radiator coolant line cut down to size.

IC is done cept for the better clamps, but that'll be quick and easy to do, so its not a bother right now.

Decided to use flex-i plastic conduit for the ECU wires going through the firewall, cowl and into the top of the pedals area. Still not sure where to mount this giant ECU box.

Wiring is going to make or break this whole thing, which is the last step. Enough is done for a first start, but nothing is working right and turns out efi is something well over my head. Its not the 8 wires marc in beaverton said. If I had the $400 he requires, I'd have him wire it no sweat.
I don't have very much to offer, but if an efi guru can come help me out, I'd be in better shape.

The goal is to get it running then pull the harness and strip what is not needed, but its not going that way. I see the 2j needs a resistor for the injectors, but does the 1j? I don't see a plug that has the injector wire colors and they don't match to the 2j diagram I got from lextreme.com

Got e-fan install left, coolant leak fix/fill, stanky ol' gear oil, somewhat exhaust and either block o2 or install one haha Need a 4 wire. Got the part #.

btw hooking up MREL and +B together was what got it alive. Since the ECU gets power through IGSW, +B gets power once the ECU is alive, MREL is looking for switched power.......it made much more sense then than randomly hooking wires up to other random wires lol

I think that was 40 to 90..gauges weren't my priority at that specific time :)

Thanks to all my bruddas fruma nudda muddas for all the help in getting this silly project alive. Completed only one other project and its kinda half ass (84 monte carlo 5sp) and I don't consider converting an sr5 rolla to gts a project unless it lasts longer than a weekend, which I've done 11.

Now to figure out why its idling so high, find out how to use this fat-tach I got, build exhaust, tighten bolts, pull the zipties all the way, install air filter, figure out what the vibration is when in neutral at freeway speeds, feed the harness through the cowl as planned with flex-i conduit, reverse lights and properly wire up fuel pump (power from tail lights) and it'll be good to go. Drove around some to see how it'd drive and it drives just like it did before...all bouncy and loud :D exactly how I like it...but this time its got little more pep.

I think I'm gunna spring a huge meet (not on the 4th) for all the sites I'm reg'd on, but I dunno...most prolly won't show. This is the only site that I've made this project public....cept for some local rolla/datsun guys just cause they saw most of the progress.

Anyone up for a suggestion on what and where to do/go? It can be as simple as bbq @ mi casa or hu song and larrys or some random parking garage/lot meet.

If you painted the wheels the same color as the rears, it would look 10x better.

Are you using a feeler gauge and a voltmeter for the tps?

JZE72
07-03-2009, 12:56 PM
The rear wheels are getting stripped and either anodized or powder coated, but don't know what color. Just wanting to burn off the tires first lol I bought them purely for their weight as I cannot stand the look of mesh. Reminds me of a lebaron or caravan. YUCK.

Do not know how to adjust tps with a voltmeter and feeler gauge. Could you give me step by step instructions? I guess the tps was good before I screwed with it and now I have to put it back :(

Its the IAC thats bad. Mark Gher, Mr. 1j, showed me the light. Geez this guy is really GOOD at what he does. I wish I had the extra dough to dish out for him to rewire the whole thing. To get a congrats and to surprise him I pulled it off is big for me! I thought he'd look at say something like "cool" then leave. I really look up to him and have many many questions for him, but don't want to be the n00b and call for every little thing. I get that from rolla guys all the time and I know how it goes.

So its boosting 11psi according to my gauge, which I thought was wrong cause its all stock, but apparently if you up the size of the exhaust (2½ instead of 2¼) it changes it.

07-03-2009, 08:38 PM
Not only do ricers stare, muscle car and off-road truck guys can't keep their eyes off it. Hard to tell its a straight 6 cause of the silly displacement, but they see the charge pipes and drop jaws that theres a pair of hairdryers :D

Ricers....oh man do they love to mess with me, but there are a few really really fast ricer hondas out there.

Rolla owners gotta stick togetha! Oh and the IAC needed to be disconnected and capped off and the idle adjusted. Now that I eliminated the IAC, it boosts 12. Perfect. :)

Idles perfect without the typical toyota studder.

Last things are reverse lights, afr gauge, tach, twin electric fans and wider wheels. Prolly best to get something 15x8/10 +30 so they'll fit. 14s just aren't cutting it lol

I'll get some idle footage. Sounds so nice at 40 in 3rd. Sounds like its around 3000rpm. The sweet spot :D

Thank you for all the kind words! Much appreciated!

Took it to the track tonight. Got an unheard of 9 runs in on BIKE night! I expected a whopping 2 runs max.

Saw rusty, too! What a cool dude! Always a hoot! Wonder why supra guys don't come around to my neck-o-the woods more often..

Pissed of some mustang and camaro guys tonight.
13.2 @ 104 is my best time and first run against a 12.9 camaro. The ticket-lady looked at me with wide eyes saying "You need a helmet......" and marked my windshield with an H.....good thing they rent them for $5+drivers license, but you don't get the $5 back lol

So many curious ppl want to know what I have in it...I have a feeling I've started a 1j trend that doesn't involve a cressida. oops, sorry guys :(

Zero traction in 1st even with a 2nd gear start burnout, but the rest was fine since I put the azeni tires on. Should've done one burnout every 2 runs. My tires got so hot and my rear quarters are covered in azeni/everyone else's rubber.

I think I could've hit the 12s had I got traction in 1st gear, but that would mean slicks and I fear what can break once they're installed that first launch...What typically goes out on the 83 supra rear ends? (F series, right?) Got a site that offers upgrades?

Everything else seems to hold up just fine other than the clunks coming from the rear due to stock bushings. I'll get a better visual tomorrow.

Why does it die here and there randomly? Also, why does it puff smoke when I drive for a few mins, then start it. Is that normal for a 1j? I know the toyota thing is puffing a lil smoke upon cold start, but every hot-start?

Also, it looked to be boosting 14, but now its back at 12??? Are the stock ct12s sposed to change around? Does it have mood swings? Does it change according to outside temp??

So should I look into adding something like a cat? I have one, but its a little on the small size 2¼ and my whole pipe is 2½. Otherwise there is nothing on the pipe at all that is ni any way restrictive. Its stanky exhaust is sickening, too. So its prolly too late to save the turbos, eh?

theWeezL
07-11-2009, 04:23 PM
Everyone I know that runs a 1JZ say "I will go single WHEN the twins go bad" Note the word "when" as opposed to "if". There are lots of options but I would do more diagnostics before writing them off just yet.

Is there any good reason you have a cat in there at all?

I already have a cat in my pile-o-shit and I can cut part of the shell to make it bigger, but the goal is to restrict a bit. The idea is to restrict and make it less stanky @ the same time. Of course I'm against cats *looks at other catless cars* but this may need it. its not hard to eliminate it if it does more harm than good.

07-12-2009, 12:18 AM
So at idle, visual smoke puffing out of the exhaust. Hit the gas and it went away. Boost seems more laggy than usual. Could 14 for 1-2 days ruin the stock ct12s? I thought 16 would kill them after half a year like everybody says...other than those 2 days, been a constant 12psi, unless my boost gauge is a liar, which I think it is...

So I want to see what I can do for a twin upgrade or single. A friend says a holset diesel turbo, another friend says 14b, I'm wondering twin ct20s, supra guys say ct26, but first said friend says they're garbage and inefficient, I'm lost.

I tried to ignore the progressively breaking turbos by doing this.

Mag etch twice

Really thinking something is wearing out like the turbos. They're boosting 14-15 as usual, but not the same grunt as when I started with bad traction. Dunno. Thinking I'll just dd it for a while till I can gather enough fundage to go single, but theres that cage problem...

Very cool to see so many ppl I know!!! Thanks for coming out, guys! Come play, too!

So tonight I went to a friends place for tuesday night and I tested his boost gauge and it says I've been boosting 11.............not 17 like my gauge says....wtf do I do? How can I find out the TRUE numbers what my turbos are putting out???

He swears up and down its accurate......ugg

JZE72
08-27-2009, 01:06 AM
So I don't know what to believe. Both our gauges are VDO, but mine has vac and isn't as old (few years makes a diff I guess?) and wtf to do.

safc is what I've been recommended to get.

So I don't know what my boost numbers are, but I do know not to forget a charge pipe clamp lol Sweet turbo sounds....never heard those before.:duh:

Get a mechanical gauge that read's 0 "zero" when the motor is off..

JZE72
09-07-2009, 04:26 AM
It is mechanical, but it doesn't read 0. More like 4-6 when all is off.

Ok so I learned some differences between a 1983 w58 and 1995 w58, but I'm not sharing.
Shits not road worthy then or now, but tomorrow it will be.

My thread is dead and theres a few vids to come....just need to upload from digital8 and I have no clue how to do that. Don't explain because I'll never get it.

geez despite the oil-smelling smoke upon accel, 4th gear spins??? I even changed the tires to ones that have tread.

Time for 15x10 and any neg offset cause positive offset is for fwd girl cars.

Need to get my friends over w/cameras. This thing is nuttier than before!

Everything is well and its not a DD anymore. I want these damn turbos to last more than 3 months...but they're smoking.........dunno. they were covered in oil maybe for preventative rust reasons? They sat for a year or so in storage thats not temp regulated, but not outside...

Wish you local supra guys werent JZ haters. Really like to chill w/you dudes.

Nothing there we don't already know. There were changes from the Mk2 w58 to the Mk3 w58 and again with the Mk4 w58. The problem is, the bloody thing, no matter what year, still has the same amount of gear area to transfer the power..

Btw, 112mph traps? Have you tried turning up the boost?

JZE72
09-22-2009, 06:44 AM
I'm not sharing cause I don't wanna type it all out :) In a nut-shell the shifting shaft is .50" wide on the mk2 w58 and the sc300/mk4 w58 is .39" wide. Too wide to pass the other gates. No idea how I got second, but its fixed and the old one is still good, but need a tail shaft housing, shift shaft and CAST IRON forks for 1-2 and 3-4 since 5-R has cast iron fork already. Or I need a tri-pod and shifter for sc300/mk4 w58.

I have this ram-air thing I made and it goes behind the headlight, but I hit fuel cut, which on a 1j is 17psi. When I remove it and go cowl induction (flip half it around) it doesn't do that. Recently I eliminated the whole intake pipe all together and clamped the filter to the y-pipe.

The turbos are bad. Big smoke upon decel and warm start. Non on cold start or boost or accel. Tired of shitty stock thats bad before I get it. Sure twins are $100, but its a 50/50 chance I will lose $100.

Got a laundry list of crap I want to do over the winter cause 300hp in the rain really sucks. Controllable, but no fun. Not like a slow car that when you get 2nd gear spin, your friends hi-five you. harmless fun.

Right now as it sits I cannot race anymore cause my slicks got so bad that I spun 4th down the track and almost plowed the wall. I got out of it despite losing to a HONDA. Till I get more slicks, I guess its time to take it out on special occasions. Still want to do suspension like coils for the front, ADD a sway bar to the front, rebuild the rear, etc.

JZE72
09-26-2009, 04:55 AM
lol So anybody could've predicted it...I went racing with street federals....guess what...12.8 wtf

I finished off the diff, its 100% hosed and the clutch master soaked the bottom of my pants and shoes with its nasty goo...its literally shooting out when I release the pedal...I can see it!

Also got some kinda oil leak thats saturating the back of my flywheel and I dont know if its getting to the other side where the clutch is. Clutch feels same as it did since day 1. Chattery in reverse, but locks tight and feels great even for an unsprung disc.

maybe its time to take it down little sooner than expected? Located a $400 precision 61 trim turbo....wonder what you guys think of that. Its on a KA currently and apparently spooled just fine, so I'm thinking my 1j will like that.

JZE72
10-13-2009, 04:15 AM
Last friday went 12.5 with barnum bravus 15s......I don't get this tire deal. I'm dead stuck on slicks, but when my street get me .2 away from my fastest time.....I'm totally lost now. Almost plowed the wall, too. No more hard power shifts! W series forks can't handle it and r154..............................no.

Since the ma60 can't handle the stock 1j power of 262/269 (yup, thats true dyno #s), I picked up complete front and rear ma70 suspension from a really cool dude in salem/stayton area. He basically threw in the front...so why not? Time to find a rear sump setup...We'll see how this goes.

Also picked up a precision 61 trim. Dude says its good to 630 or 650 or something. I'm looking for 400 wheel, which is past insanity, because as it sits now, 260 is all it needs to be insane...but I got the boost-bug, so I want more..

JZE72
10-13-2009, 11:36 PM
Did some measuring on the TE and MA x-member. Such a small difference, but enough to have me scratching my head.

TE straight across rear x-member bolt to the same bolt on the other side is 31" while MA is 28 1/2".
TE x-member bolt rear to front is 6 7/16 while MA is 7".
TE mount span is 20 3/4 while MA is 18 3/4" or 1/2.

Have yet to measure the rear.

Got some rice for this thing. Apparently its not just rice, its functional rice.
http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/6906/ricerwing.jpg

I'm seeking a spare trunk lid to bolt this to for a test to see if it really works. If it sucks and really is rice, then I want my OG trunk to be ok, you know? Not that I WANT to run this, that it would prolly create downforce.

Lots of chances in the making, but one step at a time...

These eliminate lane-roaming and look half-assed decent cause they're clean AND new tires are a big +.

I have been meaning to remove it for the longest time and what better time than in the middle of soggy rainy season? lol

Plus by putting this stock muffler on, I might get t-gated less.

About the black soot.....ignore it cause I ran w/out any exhaust for a bit. There was zero exhaust leaks, tho, which is nice considering I built the exhaust lol

So I still need 44-50mm WG (looking for deals!), some wicked powerful inline pump and install safc2 and some small random bs.

anyone have the hookup on AWD gs300/altezza/is300 stuff mainly suspension....?

JZE72
03-22-2010, 12:13 AM
you know I'm really really tempted to put on the smoking twins just to get my speed jollies off again. This single turbo stuff is wicked expensive. Been looking for a vband tial 44mm-50mm, but gawd daymmmm $550??
I think I'm going to go the 50mm driftmotion.com wastegate route. I know I know the wastegate is vital, so make it count, but its pretty much the only thing holding me back from bolting shit up, fabbing up new pieces and joining old parts to the new setup. I can't build the exhaust w/out the WG, I can't bolt the manifold on w/out the WG tube modified cause its smashing against the mount bracket, still need that damn fuel pump, but I know where to get that.

Would it be safe to run 6psi from this precision 6262 on the stock 82 ma60 pump?

Does that mean you're finally going to put the front bumper on, instead of ghetto rice look without it? Btw, engine looks great. Should be exciting to run. We'll have to meet up and run when I finish my car. It should be a pretty good race.

JZE72

Sure is. I even got the stock rubber/beam to cut up and 'factory' it once again. No more chrome te3x bumpers! I need a lip now.

Since the IC piping is made for this one, I'll just flat black it.

Hey I think you're one who drives by my house a lot, yet never looks over.

So I'm kinna in the dark here. I have the safc2, but uninstalled. Ran it and drove fine, no smoke, no hesitation and whatnot, but it runs fine? The wg is unmodified at .9bar and I have 440cc 2j injectors. I know I'm hitting fuel cut due to stock ecu and map sensor, so if I get an FCD, I should be good to go??

Sorry bout jz questions on mostly 7m site lol
