I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma 3.4L 5spd. It says the system is too rich in bank 1. Also, it will die on me during idling, and it has a slight misfire. I changed the O2 sensor (since I already had a new one laying around), but that didn't help. Any Ideas?

Wow, what do you know... I search it up on Google and it gives me a bunch of obvious reasons as to why it is throwing the code, just like your link. Sorry if I wasn't clear. There is a lot of things that could throw this code, I am looking for the most probable causes in relevance to this particular truck, as in priority, if there is such a thing for this.
The vehicle dies (sometimes) during idling, I am wondering if this could narrow it down. I am going to clean the MAF like suggested, and see what that does.
Thanks

So exactly how does one give you anything other than a batch of obivious reasons over the internet for a car sitting in your driveway? Why not ask the huge tacoma forms out there?
Here's one of the taco forum;

:eekfacepalm: I just answered that...
...And I was hoping someone has encountered this problem first hand. The reason I don't ask some of the Tacoma forums is because I am already a member of this one, so I figured I would try it first.
But thanks for the links.

Because of the MANY variables...you can't just go by what others have experienced. It has to be diagnosed...which means checking all the trouble areas indicated in the screen shot below.

I had this problem on a 2000 Tacoma 3.4. I cleaned the MAF and it was fine for awhile then after a few days it came back on. I replaced the sensor and all was fine. A tech at the dealership told me that some some aftermarket air filters cause trouble because the fibers come off of the filter and get on the sensor.

Thanks, I just cleaned mine. I will have to wait until tomorrow to see if it worked, though.
