no more Exhaust Gas Recirculation.

Cleaner engine, not emisions friendly.

There is no power to be gained. This is more of a piece of mind mod. It blocks the hole in the head bored into the #6 exhaust port and prevents carbon from building up in your intake. This disables your EGR system.

Well, my block off plate got me more power, but I opted to have a 6M attached to it....

also makes starter and transmission removals easier :)
i think that justifies the price all by itself.

Call me cheap, but I'll stick with the ones I made for no $$ and 30 minutes of my time from scrap 3/8" steel lying around my dad's shop

I only wish I had a 6M plenum to eliminate all of the vacuum caps I installed:

Yer dern skippy it cleans up the engine bay and makes access to somethings a lot easier.

My time is worth the $$$ to not have to haul down to the shop, snoop around for metal, dig around and get dirty, match it up, cut it, make gaskets, etc.

That you made your own though, A+ for effort.

I'd like a set this summer. I have to have my very last e-test next month.

-Andrew, who doesn't have scrap 3/8" steel around the garage...

The EGR is also one of the suspected causes of engine failure/#6 cylinder blown in some MKIV's. The hot gases super heat the cylinder beyond it's normal operating temp. Not saying the same could happen on a non-turbo 5M but it is a good piece of mind type of thing.

Hot in the shade.

Hmm, once the clutch is done I might just need one of these. Have a new plenum to put on from a 6m...
