Finally pulled the trigger on of these;

2006 C6 Z06 Machine Silver/Ebony Interior 2LZ with the Nav 18k miles. I believe it has all the Z06 options minus the chrome wheels I didn't want anyways. I'll take some better pics tommorow. This was in the showroom of the Lexus dealer before I left. I haven't smiled this much driving a car in awhile now.
Anybody know where I can get some gold chains to hang out with the corvette guys now? :zzzzz:

That's sweet! I'm guessing from your signature that you traded the GTO?

Enjoy the ride!

Thanks guys! The cars a blast to drive. It just has power at any part of the power band. I love the bi-modal exhaust. It's quiet when you're cruising and very throaty when you get it in. I wish I could have something like that in the Supra. The car gets crazy good gas mileage. Around 75mph the indicator is at 30mpg. I averaged about 22mpg on the half tank I've put it in so far this was with a gazillon full throttle runs included. Much better than the GTO which never got better than mid teens. The traction control in this car is much better than the GTO. It lets you get a little bit of wheel spin and squirelly before pulling back on you.
The only real downside is the Nav/radio is kind of ackward to use IMO. There is also a fair amount of tire noise on the freeway, but I didn't buy it as a Lexus. The shifter takes a little man handling, but its worlds better than the stick in gravel the C5 has.
I can't see doing to many mods to this car since it's about perfect powerwise as it sits now. I plan to clear bra it and add some of the spiffy interior upgrades everybody get for these cars. For HDPE probably a set of better brake pads is all should need.
On a side note the Mk2 looks antique sitting next to it in the garage.
Here are some quick photos I took on a quick drive thru my "playground"

Any part you take off to replace with aftermarket, carefully pack it and put it away. Also, take a picture of it the way it was installed so you could put it back exactly later. One thing I've learned about Corvettes is that the value of them later on in life is wholly dependent upon originality. Right down even to items that you'd normally not think twice about replacing like belts and hoses. My brother just scored a Corvette "Holy Grail" item at a swap meet, 1972 Guide T3 low beams, $35 each. That was a one year only headlight. We had to sacrifice his original radiator hoses last summer tho as they had swelled to the point they weren't safe. The "reproduction" hoses have the right #s and markings on them, but really they don't look like the original and the gurus can spot them from 20 feet. And whatever you do, if something like an alternator goes out, rebuild the original and don't exchange it. As crazy as it sounds, with a Corvette, every time you perform any maintenance on the car, you're losing money. But, as long as you keep the original parts, mabe even replacing wear items ahead of time so they are still useable, that will help you maintain the value.

Absolutely gorgeous vehicle.
Yeah, brakepads pretty much finish up the car, unless you want some better tires.

Absolutely love it! I highly recommend this...

I bought one for my uncle for Christmas. It's great. Makes the car sound awesome at idle and when rolling onto the throttle from low rpm.
