Very interesting, and expensive car.

Not sure if I'd go for it...even if I had 180k

You've been beaten to the thread by a while, but still sweet none the less. :)

I'd rather have the donor vehicle, but cool none the less.

beautiful, but sometimes going against the grain isn't the best thing to do IMO

supra chassis > camaro chassis (although, not in looks dept)

turbo V8 > turbo 2J

just seems like they did it the wrong way around!

I tried linking it but you can't get the address of any of the pics off that page. About midway down theres a beautiful green mk4 with no engine in it parked next to this camaro. The photo might have been a mock up, ie the mk4 was in the shop for a rebuild and the camaro motor came from a wreck or import, but the photo certainly implies that that mk4 was the donor. Which I'd rather have :p

IMO it's a clear cut example of why toyota will not make another supra....lack of respect. as i said in the other thread, other than the pic of the mk4, there's no reference to toyota, supra, or japan (unless i missed it). but plenty of german and itialian influences. seems they're not too quick to "cheapen" the car for any rice burner qualities.

i have a few magazines that did writeups on the mk4 when it first came out. it was put up against a 911, testerossa, and even pushed the vette aside on the cover of it's own magazine. but the consensus was the same...it performed with the best of them, but was seen as just another toyota that no one was going to pay 50+ k for.

No way they're getting anywhere close to 4 digit HP numbers on pump gas.

Turbo LSx would have made more power/torque and probably weighed less.

Theres a bit of that, but the mk4 has probably gained more respect in non Japanese sports car circles moreso then any other Japanese car. You can only get beat by them so many times before you start to respect them ;) I have seen several instances of muscle heads (vette, viper owners, etc) and such say that Supras are the only import they have any respect for. But in this case, I think the seller is just trying to appeal to his general audience as much as possible, which is people who are into muscle cars and generally don't like imports at all.

"Undoubtfully one of the strongest transmissions ever made, can be found in the most premium sports cars only such as the Porsche 911 Turbo."

lol not even close to the same tranny.

I'm in with the people who said turbo v8. thats a 600hp setup on pump gas. turbo lsx ftmfw.
