Stats: 1968 Ford Mustang, Diamond Blue (almost white) w/black standard interior, rare center and overhead consoles, 302 4v engine, c-4 auto transmission, a/c, pwr steering, pwr disk brakes, styled steel wheels.

It was a recent every nut and bolt restoration done to a very high quality level. For those that would like to view more pics, I don't have Greg G's photo skills, but snapped a few. Here's the photobucket album.

Got a few things that need done, but just nitpicky little things I'll get to in time. But I am really stoked right now!

Phil - Very nice - looks very good. Different lights in grill too IIRC /Magnum wheels???. As I've posted before - I've owned ~ 6 - '60 Mustangs - my first love.

Nice car - look forward to more pics.

Thanks all, but I don't think this qualifies me as a major car collector. Jay Leno is "amassing" quite a collection. I just have three classic cars and happy that still one of them happens to be a mk2 Supra. I haven't forgotten about the Supra in case y'all are wondering. Once the Supra is exempt from emissions inspections, I'll register it again and have some plans for it.

Funny I didn't like the fastbacks until 69. I only liked the coupes and convertibles through 68. Even tho my brother had a 65 fastback which was very cool, my first Mustang was a 66 coupe which I liked much better. Then in 69, the coupes looked like shit from the back but the fastbacks all of a sudden, wow! I recently learned why. In 68, Ford hired Larry Shinoda away from GM to try and revive the Mustang which was dying by then. Larry was the guy responsible for the Mako Shark concept car from which sprang the c3 Corvettes. He redesigned the Mustang for 69 and 70 before leaving Ford to go into consulting on his own. So the 69 and 70 Mustang are related to the c3 Corvette by having the same designer.

Having had a '65 2+2 (fastback) 289-auto, and a '69 fastback 351-4 spd - I'll take the '65 in a minute. (lighter. smaller, louvered sides) The '65 was my 2nd favorite car after the MKII.
