another valve steam seal thread

Lately i have been getting annoyed by burning oil, smelling like burn oil and smoking. Ive been thinking about replacing the valve stem seals, but now im starting to think that it might not be worth changing them. What kind of oil should i use? right now im using Castrol Syntec 10W30. How can i make my car stop smoking so badly?

I would look into doing a compression test and see what you get out of that.
