Tires seem too small. I had 225/50/15s on mine back when I had my 15s. Oh and shaving the door handles is a no no on a mk2. :nono:

No, its not. It looks good.

Those puny wheels however.

To each his own I say! :) I think the wheels look good with the black. The tire size is not what I wanted, but nor is the rim width. I had another set of tires get tread separation, and I got a great deal on these from tire rack. You have to start somewhere with testing combination's. We all don't have library's of wheels to test. This allowed me to find out exactly how wide of a rim I want and how much room I have.

And in addition, I bought the car with the handles like that. But I tell you what, being able to open the doors 100ft away really helps in the 115 degree heat.

Like I said, just adding to the wheel/tire combo thread.

Im happy with it for now and that's what counts

Our ~25 year old handles have a tendency to break. I don't think shaving them off is such a bad thing.

Those wheels and tires would look baddass on my lowered 1st gen Celica (hint hint), But look too small for a supra.

I like the shaved door handles.

I like the shaved doors, and the tires dont look that bad....could be worse....could be 40 series tires. lol

hmmmmmm, a 225/50/15 would look MUCH better. America's Tire show's the Falken Ziex ZE-512 as a 91V, 360AA, for $78 each. Compared to yours which are the Kumho Ecsta ASX shown being an 88V, 420AA, at $84 each. I'll take a slightly softer compound on a wider tire for better traction, especially with the higher load rating, and same speed rating. Either option is a lot cheaper than my 245/60/14 BFG traction T/As that were $128.50 each (includes state fee and lifetime balancing) and then ten percent off, plus 8.2% sales tax. Just two cost me $251.46, and I still need the other two. They look nice under the car though.

Believe it or not i got the tires for 48 dollars each and didn't have to pay sales tax. I couldn't say no.

And they actually came OFF my 1st gen celica, but I ended up getting ROTA panasport style in 13x8 for the Celica so these needed a new home. If the car was lowered i think it would look a bit better, but ive learned im going to want something like 9 inches wide in the rear and 8 up front.

And like I said as well the door poppers have been fun, my lady likes them...now i can open her door for her without even doing it ;)

The tires weren't selected for any performance value. Lets face it, my rich running, leaky 5M is going to be putting a lot of ponies to the pavement anytime soon.

Again, im happy (love black and gold, a la Subaru) and just wanted to share to help people make decisions on what they do or do not want. Thats the point :)

Thanks for all the support. I got the wheels from T3 like 3 years ago I orig wanted bronze but they were out so I went with gold...only set they had.Was happy since day one. They were on my RA21 for a while...then my Blue MX73, then I got the Black Supra and thought, YES! Black AND Gold! (A combo I love on Imprezza's)

I know the tire dimensions arent "Ideal" but if anything I wanted a little stretch which I didn't get but it helped me determine what size wheels/tires I need to end up with.

Honestly if the car was lowered an inch I think the whole setup would look great. I love it for now :)

Door poppers will prob stay for the paint job. The doors seal perfectly, open nicely, and otherwise do not need to be buggered with. And like I said, its nice to let the car air out from 100ft away lol.

Subarug, nice look. Very late '70s, early '80s JPS Lotus look. I like it!

Why not go with Rota RB and RB-R. Better fitment with staggered options.

I don't know what everybody is talking about. I think too many people are hung up on 17's and 9" wide rims, these cars came with 14x7's!! I like the way they look, true it could be lowered a little but I know a lot of people don't want to lower their cars. Oh and if you are running 16's it's 225/50 - 16 not 205's

When I got these Rewinds about I dunno...2 1/2 years ago, I think I paid around 500 shipped. And at the time I was able to get Yoko AVS100's for 50 bucks a piece.

I don't much care for the new Rewinds though :(

Love my goldies.

Just need a drop going on and I'm "golden" muahahahahhaha.....Im British....I couldn't resist the pun

I have a pic of my car with these wheels that I just threw a Black and White filter over it, and you would swear it was from a period correct magazine article
