This is my other Toyota :)

Car has sat without moving for 4 months, and it was SEMI cool tonight so I thought I would take it for a spin. Its a bad video but GREAT sound if you are an RG fan.

Fuel pressure was too high as it flooded past the needle twice.

Hope some people out there enjoy it :)

Awesome!

I remember riding along in a similar 18RG Celica once at an autocross. Very cool car, but i did not fit in it !

The fit is....well....a bit tight...depending on how my hair is done i may hit the roof! lol

I must mention this engine is underpowered as well. When we built it the RG high comp pistons i had were stock bore and my RC block has already been bored over. So to get it running we put the flat top RC pistions back in, so running super low compression for the carb setup.

Eventually, going to switch to Webers to make parts easier, big cams, bored to 92mm, all the good engine stuff, flywheel, Kameari manifold and a high rise header.

But damn does she sound sweet. Quick mover too.

Thanks for the comments

The one which I rode in (back in 94 or 95, jeez!!!) was owned by a guy named Robert who since moved out to California. He later installed an old school HKS carbed turbo on the 18RG.

Buy yeah, with a helmet on that car was un-workable for me, i am 6'3. Otherwise I would have bought one ages ago. Instead back then I drove 240Zs as they were roomier up front.

If I recall it was dark green. He autocrossed it at a few Texas Spokes Sports Car club auto-x's back in the 90's.

I only talked to the guy at those events so i can't say I really knew him.

Beautiful Celica <3
For me the sound of old Toyota twincam is pure car porn.
Here is my Celica with 2000cc 2T-G: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhmLLNwS-m0

Your 2T sounds amazing and I would have to agree with you as well. I wish I had a better camera as these videos are taken from simple point and shit cameras, it really doesnt capture the audio in all its awesomeness!

Thanks for the kind words. It may not look like it but a lot of work and sweat and tears have already gone into that RA21.Ill work on taking a better one after I give the car a good washing!

Its nice to have for all intensive purposes a bullet proof RG, even with home grown parts (you DONT want to know what we made valve shims out of!)

On a side note, I was working on a Manga about classic Japanese cars in America (That is right we arent cruising on the C1-Inner Loop, but I-10 Baby! WESSSST BOUNNND!) NOT japan. The theme was going to about the every day car enthusiasts struggle with life, money, work, and trying to find time to fit in the hobby he or she loves. It was to be a bit more realistic than Initial D or Wangan Midnight.

But alas lol....my new job and 55 hours a week got in the way.

This was going to be an initial cover. Its about as far as I have progressed. It was to be called "Breaking Limits"
