I was driving a Sprinter Vanhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r73/planetaryfuels/work1.jpg for work. For those not familiar with these, they are a Mercedes designed platform, mine was a turbo 5 banger/automatic, RWD, plenty of power, 25 mpg, 100+ Beer cases(How else would you measure volume?) They have decided to replace it with a Ford Transit Van. 25 mpg, 40+ beer cases, 4cyl gas FWD duratec/automatic with no power at allhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r73/planetaryfuels/work.jpg Man, what a difference. Vehicle is overweight for drivetrain empty. Its borderline VW vannish loaded. It DOES have sliding doors on both sides of vehicle, and other little design cues that make it a good delivery vehicle. Anyone have any experience with these?
everytime i hear someone mention or put down Ford all i can think of is "they make a pretty good work truck" :)
All i know is that the F-150, F-250, F-350's we have at work just get the job done.

ford trucks can take a beating. however, they are crap. sorry for any ford fan boys on here. old fords back in the day were pretty sweet compared to the old chevy's and dodge's, but as far as new stuff goes, chevy and dodge make a really nice truck, imo. but, your talking about cargo vans, i really have no experience with that new ford thing, but those sprinter vans unloaded move pretty good when the turbo spools up and they are super easy to drive, park, good turning radius, etc.

question,
whats the point, you just told us the ford one sucks.
go Toyota, and modify the sides to allow gull-wing doors. problem solved.
