Found this at a local forum, real classic. Kid is willing to trade for a honda:eekfacepalm:

Year: 1969
Make: Datsun (Nissan)
Model: Roadster 2000 (AKA SRL311, Fairlady, 2000, Roadster)
Miles: 47,XXX (Original!)
Engine: 2.0 liter, over head cam, dual SU carbs, "U20"

Good:
-The car has been in my family since around 1984, my grandfather is the 2nd owner... The car hasn't been abused or anything. It has sat most of it's life!
-A few new parts (fuel pump, motor mounts, tranny mount, radiator, hoses, fuel cell, rear tires, soft fuel lines, etc)
-Runs GREAT, smooth, stays cool, etc.
-Clutch has 12k on it

Bad:
-Rust... it's in a lot of places.
-Needs front tires

I'm not following you. Are you gonna buy it for yourself?

85 Supra-

How does the car sound when it starts up? Is there any 'rattle' in the cam chain? Is there any play in the front end? How are the brakes?

What extent is there rust?

Oh wait, I get it. I read your posting about three times and possibly due to formatting and picture size issues, it may appear to the casual viewer (most of us) that this car belongs to you. However it does not?!?

$2500 is a pretty good deal for this car if it is a runner. The rust can be fixed, hondas (even with a goof swap) can be had for less. Great trade, almost as much fun as a CeliSup.

I wonder if he will trade a california rust free mk2 with a 'stunning' :sarcasm: Mecha-Doc decal package?

Enjoy, one should see these cars with an SR20det swap, its a mindscrambler...

No, the car is not mine, nor am I selling it. Its just a rare car I came across in a local import forum. Originally was asking $3000. He's down to 2500. or would consider trading for a honda. I just found it to be silly to trade such a piece of japanesse art for a DD. He has a modded Z28 that will out run most hondas, which is why I assume the honda would be a daily driver. I'm sure no one has a spare 2500, I know i don't, but sure would be a nice project.

That is rare.
I don't think I ever saw one. It does seems to be in fairly good condition.
These South boys don't really know what rust issue is...

I like those roadsters, but honestly, that one looks like a basket case.

My neighbor did a full restore on one. It was truly beautiful. I would like one some day with a completely updated drive train and motor...

I use to be a Datsun person - had a 240Z and a 1969 2000 (see below).

The 2000 was very fast as it had 135 hp and a 5 speed. There was also an engine option that included a hotter cam, twin 2 barrel side draft Solex carbs and a 7 quart aluminum oil pan - this was the 150hp version.
