The 22re truck, arguably one of the most reliable vehicles Toyota ever made.
Just posted this since I've been using it alot lately. Dad bought it new in Jan. '91 and now has 332,000 miles! The other day he was asking about a 7m or jz swap lol.
The motor has never been opened, original trans, diff, and exhaust system. It's never left anyone stranded and starts perfectly every time. What a machine!

Yeah man you might already know this, but Damon has one very similar if not a little bit older, and that thing is still ticking at well over 400k (I believe). If I could get my hands on a truck like that I would be set. Gotta say, visually yours is much nicer than his though. He has rust holes the size of my head on the sides of the bed. :)

My Celica ST was given to me with 256,xxx on the odometer, but my uncle says that stopped working at one point and the car had well over 300,000 miles on it when I was finally old enough to drive it.
The condition of the engine wasn't the reason the folks didn't trust it taking me back and forth to Charlottesville, it's the fact that the body doesn't last like the engine haha. I miss that car, which is why I got the Supra. Wouldn't mind putting the 5/6/or7M in a Celica coupe.

I had A pontiac bonnaville that had almost 500,000 miles on it and it still ran when I traded it in, I must say if I was going to do A really strange swap in my Celica it would be A 3.8 ltr V6 gm engine, I believe it is one of the best FWD engines gm made.

Yea, I remember something about Damon's truck and 400k miles. But, this one has never had the timing chain done or blown a HG. As far as rust goes, that's east of the Rockies problem.:)
Actually, I'm surfing CL now for a 89+ 4x4 or 2x4. There's some pretty good bargins out there for under $4k. Gotta get rid of that 928 though.

I've had my 90 4X4 for years and I work it like a dog doing construction. I recently bought an 87 4 RUNNER with 254,000 miles on it. Well maintained and good body and int. I already put 10,000 hard miles one and hope to get lots more. It's a 22RE , of course.
