so i hear a hissing from the fuel rail and my idle surges, the asshole that had it before me put a bolt in the egr line somewhere that i think went the the canister because there was smoke coming out of it i recently went threw the toyota manual and hooked all the vaccuum lines up to spec but never checked the vacuum sensors im thinking my fpr is bucking up fuel pressure in my rail and pusing too much fuel out the injectors or there is a clog in the vacuum line damaged from exhaust smoke carbon build up or there is a vacuum sensor that is pooched any other ideas?, still wondering if its the tps its a 83 with a 6 wire because it used to be an automatic now a manual, i dont think this will matter though
The EGR system does not contact the charcoal canister in any way. That's going to be the EVAP system.
Can you explain how the rail is hissing a little better? i.e. at the FPR, filter, injector, etc.
Our cars don't have vacuum sensors btw.
Does it surge on a cold start, when warm, after XX amount of time, open loop, closed loop... need some more details.

this is hard to explain the guy had rebuilt it and done a terrible job, and all the vacuum lines were switched so im not exactly sure what it was doing. its back to the way it is supposed to be stock now the hissing sounds like its coming from the fpr. by vaccum sensor i mean the one on the thermostat housing, and the one on the intake manifold, they open vacuums ot different temperatures. and something else

it doesnt seem to have a rhym or reason this morning it was just racing really high at idle and didnt surge. hissing or crackling i think what im hearing is just the diaphram opening and letting fuel into the return line i did this without the car running
