hey quick alternator help im working on it rite now

hey im probably just being paranoid but im not sure if i got this 1 wire hooked to the rite terminal does any one have a pic of how its supposed to be for an 83 or just some detailed info thanks

are you talking about the one wire that goes on the post?

if you are it just slides under it and a black insulator goes under it so it doesnt ground out and blow your fuse many times....ask me how i know, but yeah it just goes on that post and a nut goes on top of that

no insulator there is just 1 copper wire with idk a resistor or somthing in it and i know 1 side goes to the m terminal but the other side idk both ends got to the alternator

Yes both ends go to the alternator. it is bolted on the the alternator and on to the M terminal. I think it is a capacitor that helps smooth out current spikes.
