is there a place to get a new heater control valve or another toyota that uses one that can fit the mk1?

You might be able to retrofit one from a TE72.

Not really. Unclip the actuator wire, disconnect 2 hoses and remove two 10mm bolts...

I MIGHT have a NOS one for the MK1 if you want me to look,
but its not gonna be cheap ($75 delivered)
they have been discontinued for a while or thats what I am told.
and I really dont want to get rid of it cuz it took SO long for me to find!
(and it wasn't cheap for me!)
they are different from the 80 Celicas, as they have a vacuum hose or 2 for the automatic climate control to open and close it as needed
lmk if you want me to check my stash!

Ian,
glad I had the one to fit your 1979 Supra,
just a FYI for anyone else,
I ALSO have a NOS one for the 1980 or 1981 Supra too
(its a BIT different!) has the electronic sensors for the climate control
lmk if you need one!
thanks
