View Full Version : Thread Hijacking

I know I need to stop doing it, I wish others would stop it too.
I post something, and it gets taken over and thrown in a completely new direction and I never get the replies I want to see, b/c no one is talking about the original subject.
when you say you're gonna stop hijacking, DO IT, and PM the other people who are hijacking that thread and tell them you're moving your conversation elsewhere.
going *slightly" off topic is no big deal as long as it reflects a bit onto the original topic IMO
...just my typical female complaining on this one...
:?
Are you talking about the map light thread?
If so, I don't see what you were waiting to see - you said, look what I've done. Now if you'd asked for help, then I can see you would be checking the thread to see if anyone had come up with an answer for you.
Or should this have been sent in a PM?

Tanya,
I agree with you 100%...nothing worse than hijacking a technical thread or a for sale or group buy thead. If you guys spot any thread hijacking let me know...I'd be more than happy to delete/edit the posts if it calls for that. I think the other 3 mods/admins are very liberal in the general section, but thread hijacking in for sale/group buy or tech threads is just plain ignorant IMHO.

Ross, I was waiting for other peoples opinions, likes/dislikes, questions whatever. Not just "oh look what I did" and that's it. I thought a few others might want to do something like this and are like me, not being able to find the colored light bulbs or the light bulb "condoms"... Not every personal comment has to be a PM, but comments that turn into long conversations should either be in PM or another thread. IMO
